Via San Vittorino, 06081, Assisi
Been here?
This paid parking area lies at the foot of Assisi, about 800 meters from the Basilica of Saint Francois, beside a forest. It is quiet and has toilets and waste containers, but no electricity, water or waste-disposal facilities. Recent reports give a price of 18 euros per 24 hours or 2 euros per hour, with most spaces in full sun. The centre is reached by a steep uphill walk taking about 10/15 minutes.

Well-positioned parking area at the foot of the historic center, reachable on foot via a fairly demanding uphill walk of 10–15 minutes. Recycling bins and toilets are available. Most spaces are in full sun. The daily cost is €18, or €2 per hour.
Lovely area; it is just a shame there are no water or waste facilities, because at €18 per day it would otherwise be excellent.
Great spot to park to visit Assisi for the day. great that they have toilets as well.
Right below the Basilica. Convenient for reaching the center of Assisi via an 800-meter steep climb. No services, but we spent a “quiet” night.
Convenient parking for reaching the center of Assisi (a 20-minute steep climb). No services. We spent a “quiet” night. Paid €18 for 24 hours.
Beautiful, quiet motorhome site; no water or waste services available.
Today I paid €18 for less than 24 hours. Otherwise fine; it is just a shame there are no water or waste facilities.
Quiet place only 800 meters from the center. No electricity or water connections are available. The parking area is not guarded. We paid €14 for 24 hours. Recommended for anyone staying only a couple of days.
Quiet place. Across a bridge a few meters after the entrance barrier on the left, a convenient unpaved path leads to a fairly steep paved road up to the basilica. It is a shame that the toilets are poorly maintained, there are no water or waste facilities, and during major events the parking area is closed to campers when many buses arrive.
We spent one peaceful night here; there are toilets. From the parking area there is a nice climb of about 500 meters to the town, followed by another 300 meters to the Sanctuary of Saint Francis!
We came here because all the motorhome areas were full. We paid €2 just to drive around the parking area for four minutes. A disgrace—at least give people time to drive around and leave. We left and changed plans. It is certainly convenient, but one star for the price we paid just to drive around the parking area.
Excellent, clean parking area. A pleasant walk takes you to the Basilica. I recommend it.
Clear rates, clean bathrooms, and a convenient path to Assisi that starts from the parking area and avoids the busy road. It is a shame there is no shower—the bathrooms are large enough to accommodate one!
We stayed for about two and a half hours, enough time to visit the town and the main churches. Clean toilets, large parking area for buses and campers, charged at €2 per hour. In 15–20 minutes on foot you reach the Porta di San Francesco, directly below the Basilica of Saint Francis.
We stayed here during the day to visit the city. Steep path to Assisi. For our second night it was absolutely fine.
We found the place perfect for visiting Assisi. About 20 spaces for motorhomes, suitable for large vehicles too. The toilets were open and rubbish containers were available. €2 per hour and €14 for 24 hours. We spent the night here.
Great option for visiting Assisi. Some spots in shade and mostly level! Busy with coaches in the day but very quiet at night (early October). Pleasant path up to the town. Gives the chance to visit later in the evening or first thing in the morning before the crowds arrive!
Perfect parking for visiting Assisi. An 800-meter climb to reach the center. Quiet at night too. Bathrooms not very clean. Payment by credit card only, no cash.
Excellent parking, although there are no services. Very good location for visiting Assisi.
Beautiful view; in 15 minutes on foot you are in front of the Basilica. Public toilets and separate waste collection. There is a small road near the toilets, where there is a map of Assisi, allowing you to avoid a section of busy asphalt road.
€2/hour, 15 minutes from the city center, but a 10% slope in full sun—be careful. There are probably better options for vans under 6 meters.
Spacious, quiet parking area with rubbish bins and public toilets. It is paid (€2 per hour). Ideal for a short stop away from the center.
Good paid parking, €14 for 24 hours. There are toilets and rubbish containers. We spent one night here. Twenty minutes from the center, uphill but manageable.
We stayed here on Easter Day 2025. Excellent motorhome parking at the foot of the Basilica of Assisi. The town center is about a 15–20-minute walk away, up a steep hill. It is a shame there is no water or waste disposal.
Perfect parking for visiting Assisi by motorhome: at the foot of the basilica, illuminated at night; the historic center is accessible on foot after a somewhat steep but manageable climb—Saint Francis must be earned! Functional, clean toilets and sinks, plus black rubbish bins. The parking is paid (€14/24 hours), but entry to the basilica is completely free.
Excellent parking area for walking up to the basilica.
A good—and almost the only—parking area for campers near Assisi. Campers and vans are prohibited at most other parking areas. No services, neither water nor wastewater. Rather dirty toilet. You can take a bus to the top of Assisi in 10 minutes and then walk back down, or walk directly to the Basilica of Saint Francis via the Piaggia di S. Francesco in 15–20 minutes; it is somewhat steep.
Good motorhome area, perhaps a little expensive considering that you then have to walk up a very steep hill for 15–20 minutes, but the city and the view are definitely worth it. Although steep, it is manageable—I did it while six months pregnant.
Thanks to the municipality for banning campers from the area during the April 25 holiday weekend.
Convenient parking for campers, including large ones (ours is 7.30 m long and 3.20 m high). Wide pitch but no services. Cost €14/24 hours. Be careful to leave within 10 minutes of payment, otherwise you have to pay again. Toilets are available but no showers; there are also two power outlets. There is a long climb to Assisi, but there are no alternatives.
Excellent parking for visiting Assisi, at the foot of the upper basilica, reached in about 10 minutes on foot via a slightly steep climb. Fair price, clean bathrooms, and quiet.
The parking area is nice, but apart from the bathrooms there are no other services, nor any directions to reach the Basilica of Saint Francis. Apparently there is a shuttle, but it is unclear when it runs. The price is excessive.
Lovely, very level parking area, easily accessible for all sizes of motorhomes, with clearly marked spaces. Clean, very practical toilets. At the foot of the town, reached by a somewhat steep climb. €14 for one night, or €1 per hour.
Very spacious, with level bays and plenty of room to maneuver. You need strong legs for the short but steep climb along the walls to the basilica, although it is pleasant, among the olive trees, with a beautiful panorama. Not exactly cheap considering there are no services, but Assisi offers little else for campers.
Paid parking with level, spacious bays. The town center, specifically the Basilica of Saint Francis, is reachable in 20 minutes. There are no water or waste facilities, only toilets. Note: PAYMENT BY DEBIT CARD ONLY, NO CASH.
One star because the parking is convenient for reaching the basilica on foot via Via Piaggia di S. Francesco. Otherwise, it is just an expensive parking area without water/waste facilities or electricity. Expensive because it costs €2 per hour. Be careful when paying, as the notice is unclear. It says €14 per day, but two days do not cost €28; after 24 hours, you continue paying €2 per hour.
Excellent place for visiting Assisi. The climb is tiring but not very long. A little expensive without water or waste facilities. The nearby inn is excellent.
Excellent place for visiting Assisi; quiet parking area where you can sleep overnight.
