An informal, cash-only campsite on a firm but uneven and sometimes sloping grass field, with no booking required. It costs £8 per person for one night, and the site usually opens from mid-April to mid-October. Clean toilets, water and waste disposal are available, with country walks, the Manifold track and a pub next door. It can be busy at weekends and may close when the ground becomes too muddy.

bang on place, don't allow huge groups. but perfect for me and my youngest daughter in our vans. took a bit of time to find a level spot. right next to an amazing pub. toilets were very clean. the warden collects your payment, it's cash only but they do take Scottish money (as anyone in the UK should) supplied firepits/barbecue stands
great no-frills campsite. pay cash for each person regardless of the size of your van. The pub next door is great for food and beers. Site tends to open mid-april and close mid-october.
stayed here many times, site has problems with drainage ,will close if getting too muddy. check with owner before arriving. now 8 pounds per person 1 night. cash only, great pub nearby. busy at weekends, quieter mon to Thurs. basic site no showers or hot water, no pre booking.

Great spot and bonus is it's right next to a pub. Duke of Edinburgh campers were there at the same time. Difficult to find a flat spot so needed to use ramps. Toilets, water and grey/black water disposal available. They also have glamping pods. £7pp, under 5s free. £1 extra for gazebo/awning.
The campsite was still closed on April 1.
Stayed here for 1 night in campervan. Just turn up and find a pitch and the guy comes and finds you for payment. Really nice little spot, plenty of space, clean toilets etc, great location for walks, and as mentioned previously nice pub next door with loads of seating. Would definitely stay here again.
