Eagle's Nest parking, overnight forbidden

I confirm the previous review: we made the climb today, taking 1 hour and 30 minutes at a relaxed pace to the bus station. In very hot weather, it is advisable to set off early in the morning. When leaving, continue along the panoramic road for sublime views.

17 August 2025. Thanks to Park4night for letting us know that from this parking area we could walk, free of charge, up to the Eagle's Nest, with a free tunnel and elevator. The road into the park and the panoramic road cost €7.50 for a car or motorhome. The trail starts with gravel and ends on a small paved road.

Great place to park for the roughly two-hour hike to Eagle's Nest. Parking itself is free, but entry to the area now costs €9, which is still very reasonable. I recommend coming early in the morning because the parking area was already full at 9 a.m.; we had to park by the road.

One star applies to overnight stays only. Overnight parking is forbidden. To note: Sleeping in the vehicle, as well as camping along the entire Rossfeld Panoramic Road and in its associated parking areas, is not permitted! Emergency telephone at the toll-booth entrance.

Entrance to the toll road is €8,5 now. Sleeping is perfect and you can find leveled place. Hiking trail is near. We stayed there alone. Toilets are 2,5 km UP the road next to the most beautiful views. In the morning we went to the toilet and there were multiple campers parking there. Next time we will stay near the toilets.
