Shaded picnic area, sleeping prohibited

Monsanto Park: the area marked as the location is the worst. You can continue along the parallel road beside the cycle path that starts there, where there are better locations. Motorhomes are prohibited. Arrive late and leave early; there are good options for spending the night in addition to the picnic areas. I left the main road onto a secondary road; police and firefighters passed by and said nothing.✦Translating

it's not flat and you can hear the cars passing by the street below (not loud). no barbecue anymore to prevent fire. the place was clean, lots of shady areas and tables.✦Translating

We were able to eat without any problem. However, it was extremely dirty and all the tables had been sealed off by the police; perhaps it was just temporary. Under normal conditions it should be a five-star place.✦Translating

We arrived on August 16. There was good shade, but we could not find either the fountain or the barbecue, only picnic tables. There were no other vans or motorhomes, so in the end we decided to go to a nearby campsite to be safe.✦Translating

The welcome is very cold; a little smile when you work in tourism is the basics. This campsite is simply very convenient: take bus 714 to get to Belém and the city center. The sanitary facilities are clean, but the surroundings leave something to be desired. Cigarette butts and paper on the ground, everywhere, like the rest of Portugal.✦Translating

Parking area at an entrance to Monsanto Park. Picnic area with a swan-neck fountain intended only for drinking and in poor condition. Parking usable at night but noisy, close to roads, with campers and local users returning from nights out. Dirty and poorly maintained.✦Translating
