6 Zaļā iela, 4101, Cēsis
Been here?
This free parking area is close to Cēsis Castle and the old town, reached through a pleasant park. There are no services, and the ground is slightly sloped, though recent reports found it suitable for sleeping. The adjacent road can be surprisingly quiet at night, but the small parking area may fill during the day.

A great location, with a short walk through the beautiful park to the castle. Be sure to visit it; the tower tour by lantern is wonderful, especially for children. We arrived late and, on Sunday evening, were one of only two motorhomes at this free site. Despite the nearby road, it was surprisingly quiet. We slept longer than planned. Highly recommended.
Perfect for spending the night and visiting Cēsis, its castle, and old town. You cross the park by the lake, climb the stairs, and arrive at the castle entrance. For seniors, admission was €8 for €16 on July 16, 2026. It is worth it. The old town of Cēsis is five minutes away. We arrived with two 7.5-meter motorhomes at 5:30 p.m.; there were two spaces. By 6:30 p.m., the remaining cars had left. We slept alone.
Good parking place next to the castle park, a very beautiful park. In the morning, it is wonderful to walk through the park, climb the stairs to the castle, and exit through the gate onto a pedestrian street with many cafés. There are toilets in the park.
Not level, close to the road. The positive point is that it is close to the castle. We did not sleep there but at the stadium; it is no better in terms of noise.
Very good place for exploring the city. Located directly by the castle. Free.
Quiet place, slightly sloping but very nice. We slept there and visited the castle. No services.
Impossible to sleep there; the surface is absolutely terrible throughout the parking lot. On the other hand, it is perfect for sightseeing, really just steps from the castle and old town.
It can never have five stars because all services are missing, but since it is quiet, free, and very close to the park and castle, it deserves all four stars. There are not many spaces, but we were there out of season, so there was no problem.
Unfortunately, we could not use it at the weekend because of a cultural event. Nevertheless, it is very good for visiting the castle and town; the previous comments are accurate.
Had a calm and uneventful night. Nice sunset which you can watch from the pavilion across the street in the castle garden. The ground is minimally slanted but flat enough for sleeping and cooking. Busy parking space so not good for staying for days, rather a solution for one night and leaving in the morning. After 20h it empties and you can choose the flattest spot. Streetlights are bright.
It was almost full when we arrived mid-afternoon. We squeezed on a bit of grass at the end. It was empty later and only two of us stayed. Quiet night.
