Been here?
Tønnegarden is a peaceful farm stay with beautiful views and about a 1 km walk to the sea. A stay costs 300nok with electricity, and includes WiFi, fresh water, hot showers, toilets and a warm dishwashing area. There is no grey or black waste disposal, but a waste station is about 10km away. The barrel factory offers museum tours, and a farm shop sells local products.

What a wonderful place! The owner is incredibly kind and told us about making the barrels and his plans for the property. We could wash dishes with hot water in the kitchenette, and take a hot shower in the clean shower and toilet facilities. Wi-Fi and electricity are included in the price. We also bought some homemade syrups and jams. We slept wonderfully peacefully!
Wonderful place! Besides the great view and heavenly peace, there is a small farm shop. We were also lucky enough to visit the workshop and learn about the cooper’s craft, past and present.
Very peaceful place with a beautiful view and reasonable price including electricity. A large, clean shower. Shop selling local products such as meat, bread, and jam. Warm welcome.
Very, very beautiful little site! Extremely friendly owner who bakes the bread himself, sells meat from his own cattle, builds the barrels himself, and keeps everything impeccably clean. We spontaneously stayed another night. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the water in either direction. There is also a proper swimming area within walking distance, but we did not visit it. Highly recommended in every way!
Very quiet and peaceful place with a breathtaking view of the fjord. Highly recommended!
A really wonderful location with very friendly owners! We also bought some Norwegian specialties and watched the woodworking. The view is beautiful too. Top location!
Top location! Very friendly owners, and the facilities are in good order. Tip: buy some jam and bread there—they are delicious!
What a wonderful place, peace and quiet with a beautiful view. Spotlessly clean toilet and shower with lots of hot water. Fresh water to fill up but no grey or black waste but there is a waste station about 10km away. Paid 300nok with electricity which is a steal in these parts! Lovely reception from the owners on arrival. If I’m ever that way again I’d definitely go back
A very peaceful place to unwind. A very warm welcome. Everything you need is available. The walnut bread is highly recommended. *****
A wonderful place to stay. The hosts are welcoming and friendly. We even got warm cupcakes when we arrived. The views are beautiful. And the parking is peaceful. In high season I recommend to call ahead as the places are limited. There is access to water, showers and WC. Additionally they have local traditional produce, ecological meats and small gifts. Overall highly recommended! ???
Beautiful, quiet site with a great view. Very nice operator family. We had a peaceful night here away from the tourist bustle. In the morning we could buy some very tasty bread—highly recommended; it is best to order it the evening before. A clean bathroom with a warm shower, free of charge. We highly recommend the site.
I would gladly give 6 stars. Great place, nice man, unbeatable value for money!
What a beautiful place! And lovely people. I was parked too far from the power socket, and both sockets were occupied. They immediately looked for a solution, and I was also lent an adapter, which I did not have yet. I could sit on the bench here for hours—it still smells of fresh wood—and look at the landscape. Absolutely recommended!
Very beautiful place with truly lovely people. We felt very comfortable.
I am delighted by this hospitality. In the middle of winter, no one had expected guests. So the bathroom was quickly prepared. In the morning I received fresh bread from the oven, followed by breakfast with a view of the fjord. What more could you want! I am happy to recommend it and would love to come back in summer.
Stunning view. Peaceful. Clean toilets. Hosts were friendly and wonderful.
We, Ton and Tanja, had a breakdown at this lovely farm campsite. The gearbox stopped working. Jostein and his father did a fantastic job leveling us and turning the camper for the recovery trailer. After we were finally able to leave with the replacement camper, we were not even allowed to pay for all the days. Very generous! Jostein and family: thank you very much! We would love to come back!
Jostein and Endre were very friendly and, although it was shortly before closing time, they still showed us how a barrel is traditionally and semi-mechanically made. Toilet and shower very clean, site very idyllic. Due to strong gusts of wind, we had to repark the camper facing the house, but that was no problem. As others have already mentioned, the bread is very tasty! 5/5
We were given a very warm welcome, with a beautiful view of the fjord and an introduction to barrel making. Farm products and fresh bread are available for sale. The sanitary facilities were very clean. We highly recommend it!
Beautiful site on a clean asphalt surface directly beside the barrel factory. Very clean sanitary facilities and a small kitchen for washing dishes and, if necessary, cooking. Very friendly owner; despite several reservations, he still found a place for us.
Everything was great! The magnificent view, the local products, and the owner, who takes care to maintain distance between the motorhomes to respect privacy. We had a very nice time!
Highly recommended. Great view. The bread is very tasty.
Very beautiful, very quiet site. Be careful when playing football: it drops straight down behind the meadow! The bread already mentioned is super tasty. It is 20 minutes/1 km to the fjord, and there is a staircase for swimming. Simply walk back along the road until it goes down to the right. Great, spotless kitchen.
Superb view from the 5 available pitches; the green areas and sanitary facilities are carefully maintained. The welcome was warm. It is preferable to take your vehicle to reach the fjord shore below.
Lovely view. You feel very welcome. Peaceful. The history of Tønnegarden is fascinating. The farm is now run by the fifth generation. Good information about the operation and the barrels produced. Farm shop selling, among other things, warm bread baked in a stone oven in the morning. If you want an overnight stay with soul, we absolutely recommend this place.
We stayed for 2 nights at this fantastic place with a very well-kept garden, an impeccably clean bathroom and shower, and delicious warm walnut bread in the morning. You can also buy homemade jams and other local products such as meat and sauces. The view of the fjord is breathtaking, and the value for money is excellent. The camper pitch is paved with a slight slope, and the owner is extremely kind.
If I could, I would give 6 stars. Great location with an incredible view of the fjord, friendly service, and clean sanitary facilities. The old cooperage is fascinating. You can pre-order homemade walnut bread for the morning—unbelievably delicious! An absolute top recommendation from our entire trip through Norway so far.
