Daytime refuge, motorhomes unsuitable

This is the Calhaus Shelter, with 2 bunks, a table and good views; a waterfall can be heard from the refuge. It is a daytime-only stop, as overnight stays are prohibited. Access is for 4x4 vehicles only, with a difficult, badly broken track, and it is unsuitable for motorhomes or standard vans; dry firewood is usually available inside.

Good views! There is a waterfall you can hear from the shelter, which has a table and wooden bunks. There is also a fire pit, and normally some dry wood inside; if you use it, replenish it!Translating
The place is incredible! But overnight stays are PROHIBITED!! It says so on a sign at the beginning of the track. Also, 4x4 ONLY—the track is quite difficult, with very rough sections. Spectacular for spending the day!Translating

Getting up to the marked spot is very doable, need ground clearance, but that’s about it. The spot at the refuge is small, but there are much better spots further up. Once you get beyond 2000m in alt, you will need 4x4, but the track will still be doable. Continue up and you will find a huge flat valley (i think 100 cars can fit here), with a broken (open) gate at the end. After the gate the track becomes more difficult with stones. If you are a confident driver you will have no problems, i made it up in my defender 130. You can go all the way up and camp at the lake near the mines. As i was late in the year, i stayed in the large valley to get more cover from the elements. But do not attempt in bad weather.
On the way up to the mines there are several better places to park and sleep next to the track. ⚠️ Do not attempt to go this trail with your VAN or Camper. 4x4 is required (as the sign in the beginning of the track clearly says). Even with a fully-fledged 4x4 it is a moderate track. ⚠️ The mines, vellay, the red river and the dozens waterfalls are marvelous.
