Unnamed Road, BT54 6LR, Ballintoy
Been here?
A scenic picnic-area parking place overlooking the sea, cliffs, and the Carrick-a-Rede bridge, with many spaces and plenty of bins. Overnight stops can be quiet and relaxing, although tourist buses arrive from 09:00 and the road is busier before calming around 19-20h. A food truck sells sundae-style ice creams. Some morning horn noise has been reported.

Excellent parking area, picnic area, food truck with excellent sundae-style ice creams, plenty of bins. Perfect place for a stop with a beautiful view of the cliffs.
Very beautiful viewpoint and picnic area. We did not try staying overnight.
An ideal place for a quiet overnight stop. Note that tourist buses arrive from 9:00 a.m. We were 7 motorhomes here tonight.
Few other campers here, signal is good and many bins available
We’ve stated here a number of times and it’s been quiet and relaxing.
Great place to see the Carrick-a-Rede Bridge if, unfortunately, you do not have time to see it up close
Very good for spending a quiet night. More traffic from 8/9 p.m. Very beautiful view of the rope bridge.
Wonderful night at this area with many spaces. Exceptional view of the coast and sunset. Busy road, but the traffic eases from 7–8 p.m.
I would not call this place a picnic area but rather a bus station, where, despite terrible weather, an endless stream of buses pours out hordes of tourists. That said, the view is magnificent.
Great, thank you for allowing us to sleep here. Bins available. Please leave the place clean. Slept well despite the horns in the morning.
I slept well here; it was fairly quiet.
Ireland as we wanted to see it! A magnificent and peaceful place with a breathtaking view! An absolute must!
Incredible view of the coast. Visited by walkers but quiet in the evening. Quite a few places to stay overnight, some of them sloping. Bins and picnic tables on site.
Stayed two nights here. Very busy in the mornings with coaches, so please park within the spaces, not across them. I walked to Carrick Rope Bridge from here, as the bus stop seemed a long way along the main road anyway. The road wasn't very busy.
we spent 4 nights here, It's such a beautiful view, peaceful nature, I hope everyone keeps it clean and respects other vehicles when parking, so that this place can be friendly for RVs for a long time.
Had the place to myself late April, you can see the rope bridge from here but can't walk to it safely. A bus stops just here though if you don't fancy driving, which goes down to the Weighbridge tearoom on its way to Coleraine, and you can walk it from there. Rocked to sleep by 25mph winds, lovely.
Lovely spot for a stopover with beautiful views. Bins and good 4G.
Beautiful view, including the rope bridge. There are picnic tables, but no other facilities. However, the wind made sleeping almost impossible, so I do not recommend this place. This is actually a parking area for day visitors to enjoy the view. So do not use more than one parking space!
Beautiful view, no services but quiet because it is not too close to the road.
A beautiful spot, with incredible views. I arrived at 6.30am, planning to stay the day whilst I worked, but loved it so much I stayed overnight too. It’s busy during the day with coaches of tourists, but it didn’t bother me. By 6pm it was quiet, with a little spike at sunset. Very peaceful overnight EXCEPT for one car that honked their horn the entire length of road past the car park at 11.30pm.
Magnificent and peaceful place. We spent the night from Sunday to Monday; there were 4 vans and motorhomes. However, it was very windy, and when it blows, it really blows! The view is spectacular.
Lots of coaches arrived and continued for an hour or so in the afternoon. That put me off staying overnight, together with it feeling a little exposed … weather and road noise. Others have said great things, just not feeling it myself.
Good spot for sleeping in a van in calm weather next to the sheep. Bins nearby. Quite quiet despite the road not being far from the spaces.
Incredible place with a magnificent view, very quiet, a little windy.
We stayed here on 04/04/2024, great spot for 1 night stopover, amazing location and views. Traffic from road quietened up later on. No services.
Great little spot. Quite a few places, you could get quite a few vans in here. Great views. Windy in the night, so if you are sensitive to a bit of wind noise and potential van movement, think carefully and check the forecast.
