Been here?
Free gravel parking beside the E6, with picnic tables, benches, two rubbish bins and views of snow-covered mountains. Traffic noise is audible, especially during the day, though it may ease in the evening. The place is suitable for a short stop or overnight stay, with hikes nearby and another parking area across the road.

A gravel lot directly beside the road where you can park for free. There is an excellent view of the snow-covered mountains, a place to sit and two bins. I think traffic decreases in the evening, so I should have a reasonably quiet, though cool, night. But we are in Norway, after all.Translating
Beautiful place. You can hear the road traffic, but that is okay.Translating
What a view! We slept there at minus six. A little farther back toward Oslo, perhaps 2 or 3 km, at another stop, we went to the toilets. This was the best snow-free spot we found.Translating
Directly next to the road, so yes, you hear the one or two passing cars. What else to expect from a roadside spot? If you're not so mimimi it's an absolutely great place. Trash bins, benches and the view over scrubs and nothingness. I absolutely loved it.
The magnificent view more than makes up for the traffic noise during the day. We stayed at the picnic area on the other side of the road and enjoyed walking and taking in the scenery.Translating
