Basic beachside parking, no shade

I hadn't been here for two years, and everything is still the same. It is a shame that, despite such a good location, there has been no reinvestment or attempt to improve it. €15 is already enough to offer something more than an unmarked barren patch. Dear people at the town hall, thank you for this space, but please show a little more empathy toward this community. You could have a model motorhome area, but instead you have a segregated space.

Acceptable, but the municipality of Tarifa should get its act together and turn this area into something spectacular, since the location is excellent both for the beach and for visiting the old town. The place is huge and well ventilated, but there is no shade. The service point is fine but has opening hours. Recommended for a quiet stay and for not leaving the air conditioning unit out in the street.

Parking area quite okay for exploring Tarifa! The beach is a five-minute walk away, which is perfect. We will stay here for two or three days; in the rain it will certainly become extremely muddy.

Totally acceptable. Close to the beach; we left all the windows open and enjoyed absolute peace. The only fault is the electricity. It is not worth parking badly.

Just a dirt parking area with water and waste disposal. It did not seem monitored at night, but we slept safely anyway. Tarifa is certainly one of the nicest stops we have made, including a day trip to Tangier.

If you want level, monitored parking close to the beach and town, it is perfect. You can enter at any time, but from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4:30 to 10 p.m. you must pay by card only. During those hours the services for motorhomes are available. Very friendly staff. I wish there were more areas like this in many cities. Tarifa is motorhome-friendly.

Acceptable price for an overnight stay: €15, including wastewater disposal and refilling with clean water, with set morning and afternoon hours for these services. I am not sure whether the surveillance cameras are switched on.

We stayed here to walk along the beach and stroll through the town in the evening. Someone came to our motorhome fairly soon after arrival and asked us to pay. We paid €15. It is okay for one night, but we drove on the next day.

A barren patch indeed. Why pay €15 if you are not allowed to put out the awning, chairs or table? That is why it is better to park outside. Our vehicles are large cars that can park anywhere like a normal car. This area is shameful; I advise against coming here.

A miserable barren patch where you cannot even extend a small part of the awning without being reprimanded. You can understand why there are more vans and cars outside than inside. To fill up with water and empty waste, they tell you to pay €15 to enter. It makes me very sad.

It is worthwhile because the area is monitored by security cameras and water filling and emptying are included in the price, but it is nothing special. Outside the parking area there are places where cars and camper vans spend the night without paying.

Ok it’s a dirt car park, it’s not pretty but has everything you need as long as your self contained, the beech is very close and so is the town which has a nice vibe to it and I really liked it, I cut my stay slightly short as it was to windy for me but I would definitely return if I were in the area.

Very good central parking, close to all services, the city, beach, shops and historic center. Thanks to Tarifa town hall; we will surely return.

Municipal area near the beach, a few minutes' walk from the Lances beach promenade and 15 minutes on foot from Tarifa center, in a very good location. They charge €15 with services but no electricity. The bad thing was that the gardener started cutting the grass at 8:30, waking us up. But thanks to the town hall for providing this service for caravans.

This is the most central paid option in Tarifa. Good location for beach with bars restaurants and town being a short walk. The service area id only open at certain hours from 0900 til 1400 and 1700 to 2200. There is a toilet but is only available during these hours as you need to get a key. For what you get a bit overpriced. There is no 24 hour security except if you count the CCTV tower.

We agree with the negative reviews. Water and waste services are okay, but the site manager is absolutely appalling. A real shame for Tarifa; it reflects badly on the town. Perhaps someone should do something about it.

I did not like it at all: an empty lot, €15 to pay, and I did not see the 24-hour security services or the toilets either. I stayed outside on a street with other motorhomes.

Good location for both the beach and the old town. Services were closed at nights and not open again until 9.30. Not the most scenic aire but plenty of space and easy to get too. For €15 a night it would have been nice to have a toilet/shoer block.

I can't confirm the comments saying it is “very protected.” I wanted information about checking in but could not find anyone. The gates were open, and I could enter and walk around the premises without anyone paying attention. I drove to another camping spot. By the way, I could not find the toilets.

Very well located, 100 m from a beautiful beach where dogs are forbidden. The center is magnificent; I loved it. The peninsula is inaccessible, however, as it is protected from mass tourism. Clean waste-disposal area, open at specific times.

Basic and not pretty but useful, excellent by the beach and a short walk to the old town. Bar Papaya on the beach is very near and is good.

Site with a very good location near the beach. You must be self-sufficient and accept the basic nature of a motorhome parking area. The beach and Tarifa make up for it.

Good area, with services but no electricity. Level, dirt surface. Close to town, 50 meters from the seafront promenade. Many motorhomes parked around without problems. Easy to get in and out. I was disappointed; I had heard wonderful things about Tarifa. Beautiful beach, but the town is very neglected and the promenade ugly. The wind was unbearable, blowing sand that stuck to the body.

Very accessible spot. Very close to the beach and within walking distance, about 20 minutes, of the pleasant town. Wonderfully quiet. There is nothing else, but so what.

I was dubious about parking here. The site is fenced but the barrier is always open as the site is only manned for 2 periods during the day. But I wanted somewhere to leave my van while I went to Tanger for 2 nights and I felt better about it than leave it on the street. It was absolutely fine. Happy to come back and find it untouched! It is a simple parking area with emptying and filling services, monitored only for a few hours during the day (9–14 and 17–22). It seems they were installing surveillance cameras, but the site is not enclosed. The ground is dirt, not paved. There are no showers. It is better to park around it; no problems, even for long vehicles, except in marked areas and near the beach.

It is just a parking area with basic amenities—water and waste disposal—and nothing more. It is very close to the interesting fortress, and the ever-impressive kitesurfers are nearby.

The service area closes at 2 p.m.; at 1:55 p.m. the lady explained that we could no longer empty our toilet because she was finishing work.

A way to stay legally in Tarifa without risking a fine. The site has little charm, although the parking ticket is valid for 24 hours. Everything is within walking distance. A bit expensive considering there are no services.

It is not a five-star site, but it has complete water and waste facilities, without electricity (available in the morning and from the afternoon until late evening). Given the location—only 1.5 km from the beautiful old town and a few meters from a superb beach—€15 is perfectly reasonable. Staying here for 1–3 days is definitely worthwhile! 4 stars!

Hardstanding parking, no services for €15; strongly not recommended. We certainly will not return to Tarifa—it is not worth the detour in our opinion.

Area with everything necessary, without any attraction as a site. It is 10 minutes from the Puerta de Jerez and the entrance to the old town, with its small, attractive streets and many establishments. It is also 4 minutes from the beautiful beach.

It’s certainly not a pretty car park. It’s functional but I think if you pay €15 per night they should at least close the barrier at night. Also we tried to use the recycling bins but the caretaker told us to throw everything into the same general rubbish bins. If you want to park for free just use the car park slightly up the hill - no grey waste point or chemical disposal there though.

Tarifa… known for its surfers, kiters, chillers, and car break-ins. I hardly know anyone whose car hasn’t already been broken into here. Maybe less so in the off-season. Nevertheless, we feel more relaxed staying in a monitored parking area. Services are available at specific times. The site has also been tidied up by now.

Every working day, the sound of a chainsaw wakes you up... otherwise quiet.

Terrible! Neglected! Vehicles parked between the motorhomes and wrecked motorhomes. Incredible to charge €15 for this. We feel like second-class tourists. We do not feel safe. Never again!
