Avenue de Madrid, 28730, Buitrago del Lozoya
Been here?
This is a basic dirt parking area beside the Civil Guard barracks and a Repsol station, suitable for visiting Buitrago del Lozoya and sometimes for a quiet overnight stay. It has no motorhome services, although services are available at the nearby petrol station. Much of the area is uneven, with some gravel, mud and early traffic noise. The historic centre is about 10 minutes away on foot.

It seemed like a good place to leave the motorhome and visit the town. We do not know how sleeping there would be.
I did not like it for sleeping. Dirty parking area with abandoned cars, etc. I slept somewhere else.
We spent two very peaceful nights. It is a parking area at the entrance to the town. Services can be done at the gas station. Very convenient for visiting and sleeping peacefully.
Functional. Parking area with containers, but with a slight slope in practically every spot. Ten minutes on foot from the historic center.
Although I was the only camper, I felt very safe here. The access at the end of the parking area, viewed from the N1, shown in picture 2, was blocked with concrete planters, shown in picture 5, so there is no through traffic to Calle de San Lázaro and the site is even quieter. I would gladly return for one night while passing through.
Area right next to the Civil Guard station, not a sound, in the town itself. No emptying or filling services.
Stayed here overnight while driving south, felt very safe. It's not glamorous, doesn't have services and traffic noise starts pretty early, but when you need somewhere break your journey, it's perfect! To the left is gravel and fairly level. while the top end is sloping and muddy. Repsol station opposite has services, decent priced fuel and even an Ad Blue pump. 2 mins off A1
We parked here to visit Buitrago. No problem, although most of it is quite steeply sloped.
Quiet night, somewhat uneven, next to the Civil Guard station. No services, but there is a nearby gas station with services, which we used on arrival to change the gas bottle. Very beautiful town; I recommend the bakery opposite the town hall. Be careful: it is a parking area, not a motorhome service area.
No services. Uneven. No lighting. Somewhat noisy. Only if you have no other option. Thanks.
Good open area behind the Civil Guard barracks. Very level parking right against the wall. People walk dogs and exercise nearby. We were alone but rested very safely. Two trucks were also parked next to us.
Quiet place to sleep, somewhat uneven. The cemetery parking area just across the road is also very good and level.
Very quiet and safe because it is next to the Civil Guard barracks. I went in and told them I was going to sleep there, and they said it was fine. However, you can hear the trucks on the highway quite clearly at night.
As mentioned, a very good place for an overnight stay because it is quiet and conveniently close for visiting the town. It should be added that at the Repsol station opposite, motorhome services are available for €3.
We spent a very quiet night in this parking area with our 7.40 m motorhome. We arrived at night and there was a camper, two trucks and machines, and three cars. At dawn, the noise of a truck starting woke us, but we had no problems.
Good place to sleep. There were more than three motorhomes on the night I stayed, next to the Civil Guard barracks, so we slept safely. Opposite the gas station, which has water and other facilities. Somewhat uneven.
Very quiet parking area but uneven. Good for spending the night and visiting the town.
We stopped for an afternoon and overnight stay while passing through. Well connected for visiting and reaching anywhere in the town, and very quiet at night.
Dirt lot behind the Civil Guard barracks where you can spend the night. Very quiet night, close to the town, reached with a five-minute walk. It is beautiful and has excellent tapas. Three stars because there are no facilities at all.
Good place to sleep on the way to Madrid. Close to the center.
Quiet night. Plenty of space to move and maneuver. About a 10-minute walk from Buitrago center and two minutes from the river.
We spent a very quiet night with several motorhomes. Close to the center. Very safe.
It does the job for sleeping, although some areas are quite uneven. Parking close to the wall is better. Quiet unless some inconsiderate person comes shouting late at night. Several trucks and motorhomes; in the morning, cars arrive for bike rides. Next to the Civil Guard station, which is a safety bonus.
