Free lakeside site, clean facilities

Very nice motorhome pitch with great surroundings: a small swimming lake, Kneipp facilities and a stream—no dogs there! The place is very idyllic and invites you to take a walk. You can eat very well at Heiligenstadter Hof, which has a lovely terrace. Annoying are the people who do not follow the rules, but the municipality cannot be blamed for that—perhaps there should be more control? We are happy to come back!

The pitch is top-notch! Thanks to the municipality! The swimming pond is also more than good and, above all, clean! The parking area is a little dirty, but that is due to the people staying there, not the municipality! Leave your place clean so we can all enjoy this great place for a long time!

Pleasant place with everything you need. A small swimming lake, Kneipp pool and children's playground are next to it. A cycle path runs right past, and there are also hiking trails. Nearby is a very good bakery with traditional, delicious bread.

Highly recommended; toilets and shower very clean. We made some nice acquaintances, and there is a swimming lake right next door. The shower costs €1 per 5 minutes. Fresh water costs 10 cents for 10 litres.

Super beautiful! The lake is right next to it. Effectively, there are six spaces with electrical hookups. Right beside them are about 16 parking spaces for overnight stays.

Perfect. It is a very well-planned parking area: an area exclusively for motorhomes, a shared area for cars and motorhomes, and an area exclusively for cars. You can find shade. Do not miss the icy medicinal-water pool beyond the lake, the Kneipp spring.

Compliments to the Heiligenstadt market town and its hospitable citizens for this place! Traffic only really disturbs the idyllic atmosphere during the day. Thumbs down for the louts, with or without undershirts, who spread themselves out here for days.

Looks great, but it is already full by 6 p.m. In addition to the official motorhome spaces, another 6–8 campers are surely staying in the regular parking spaces.

Newly laid out, spacious pitches. Toilets and shower on site. Free grey-water disposal. Cycle path and natural swimming lake directly at the site. The road is quite noisy during the day, especially because of the many motorcyclists, but quiet at night. Many thanks to the municipality.

There are six dedicated motorhome spaces, although they could actually accommodate eight vehicles if parked properly. There is also a car park immediately next door where vehicles up to 6–7 m can stay. In addition, there is a new sanitary building with shower and toilet. A great natural swimming lake is right beside it, and the service facilities are excellent.

Nicely laid-out free pitch with large, level, wide plots near natural lakes. Small, quiet town with a good bakery around the corner; limited restaurant selection. Little but noticeable road noise. The sanitary building at the site is closed until the end of March. Very clean public toilet in town beside the town hall, a 3–5 minute walk away. Good starting point for hiking and cycling tours.

A really beautifully laid-out free motorhome pitch on the edge of the market town of Heiligenstadt in Upper Franconia, directly on the Leinleiter River. Relatively quiet despite the road. The town centre with restaurants, such as Aichinger Brewery, is within walking distance. Fresh-water and waste-disposal facilities, including electricity hookups, are available; toilets and showers are closed in winter until the end of March.

The location makes up for everything. There are great hiking trails around it, and you also get good tips. As roof-tent campers, we paid only a flat €2.50 for electricity. Showers at 50 cents are almost standard on pitches nowadays, and three new additional sanitary cabins are already ready for installation. Plots are also available for vehicles over 9 m and combinations.
