This is a small parking area near the city, ferry and beach, with one free toilet but no shower. Six spaces can accommodate longer vehicles if parked carefully. Traffic, people and cars can make it noisy, sometimes almost all night. The ferry crossing to Fort de Carlsten costs 3,5€ per adult return.

Perfect for visiting Carlsten Fortress by taking the ferry, at €3.50 per adult return.
Ok, some noise from people and cars almost all night. Nice toilet and near the beach for a morning swim. Slept in our ordinary car.
We had no problem using one of the six spaces that allow a long vehicle to park without taking up two spaces. The ferry terminal is just a short walk away.
We used one of the six spaces where the rear of the camper can extend beyond the back line when entering rear-first. The attendant told us where to park. I took a photo showing where we parked. 15 SEK per hour—the island of Marstal was a disappointment.
Outrageous. We had correctly paid for four hours because we wanted to visit Marstrand. Our camper was 30 cm outside the marking, so we received an 800 SEK fine. All the campers there received the same fine.
The parking lot is only for cars and unsuitable for motorhomes. It is regularly checked; if you occupy two spaces with a motorhome or do not stay within the parking markings, there is no way around it and it becomes very expensive.
There are about six spaces in the back row for longer vehicles. We stayed one night and were completely alone. Despite the road, it was very quiet. Three minutes on foot to the ferry, 15 minutes to the start of the hiking routes. The toilet was open but not clean. The toilets at the ferry are clean and heated.
Our 7-metre vehicle fit well here. There are about six spaces in the last row with room behind them. 10 SEK per hour, 5 SEK after 6 p.m.; easy to manage with the EasyPark app. Less than five minutes to the ferry.
