This is a gravel and tarmac parking area near Portugal’s only ski resort, at the ruins of the cable car. It offers views of the Torre on one side and a small reservoir on the other. The road is nearby, but there is no traffic at night.

Four stars, but not for this spot. Just a little farther on, a few hundred metres away, there is a huge, perfectly level parking area. It is not beside the road. Excellent.
