23 Riverside Close, SK13 7RP
Been here?
A free, shady park car park about 700m from the town centre, with a stream, ducks, geese, dog-walking areas and a skate park nearby. It is often peaceful overnight, though daytime periods can be busy with families, dog walkers and visitors. The entrance is via Corn Street, not Riverside Close, and toilets are a 5-minute walk away. A Wednesday-morning fitness class may create loud music from about 5.30 to 6.30.

Great park up but please do not empty toilets by the stream and make sure you pick up after your dogs. Locals have noticed human waste being left and it's honestly giving all of us a bad name...
Truly lovely park. Great if you've dogs there's a "secure" training area behind the skate park and a stream for them to cool off in..Toilets are 5 min walk away no opening hours. We stayed on a BH Monday night and it was busy. We felt a little uncomfortable being in our van with the doors open with people around...but that could just be us and at 32°C we didn't really have an option
we parked by the skate park and pond ad that was the most level space. carpark was very busy on bank holiday Monday daytime but empty over night.
The entrance to the car park is via Corn Street not Riverside Close. Busy with dog walkers and families at the weekend but a great place to stay, and free.
What a lovely spot to park for the night. We stayed here on New Year's Eve and had the car park to ourselves. It was so peaceful - all we could hear was the stream, ducks and geese, and the hooting of an owl. For others planning to stay here, we'd recommend driving as far into the car park as you can and parking close to the duck pond. Also use good blinds/covers as there are bright lights.
Very nice little spot; it was nice and quiet, with the relaxing sound of the stream. The only downside was the fitness group that arrived at about 5:30 and played loud music until about 6:30 on Wednesday morning. I am not sure if it happens every Wednesday, so this is just a heads-up. The ID Mobile signal was not great, but EE was fine for a Fire Stick.
Lovely free night to park , Phone signal was fine Kids in skate park didn't make no bother they left by 10pm, Very busy lots of visitors to feed ducks sunday morning , Lovely park , We came to explore following tom syndicate on you tube , the village bakery in Hyde we thoughily recommend, on our way to Scotland now , hopefully for another peaceful park up ..
We parked here for Parkrun and it's a good location for the local town and local amenities. No fee or restrictions in place. We opted not to spend the night as it lacked 4G signal so we stayed nearby instead. Other campers seems happy. Lovely location right in the park.
Good for spending one night. The parking area by the park is spacious, though not perfectly level. In the morning some people come to walk their dogs, but they are not disturbing. Beautiful park with various activities, good for a walk, especially if you are traveling with a dog. There is also a skate park in the parking area, but nobody is there in the evening or at night. Mobile reception is available.
Lovely spot. Stayed Friday night, as mentioned in a previous comment, there's a fitness class in the skate park Saturday morning, so park further down if you want to sleep in. Beautiful park to have a walk around, or join Parkrun on Saturday morning.
Arrived at 7pm Friday, few cars and people on the skate park. Short walk to the pubs for food and drink. Got back to the van at 10pm and everybody had gone. Didn't hear anything or anybody in the night. There was a fitness bootcamp thing going on Saturday morning about 8am and then parkrun from 9ish. I'd recommend parking back towards the road rather than near the skate park if stopping Friday
Perfect spot for a short stay. We arrived at 9 p.m. and left at 9:30 a.m. We could hear the ducks, but they did not disturb us. People arrived quite early to walk or feed the ducks. Undisturbed night.
Parked far end in the circle looking out at the stream and Birdlife. There's a fenced area for off lead dogs and a cafe. 5 minutes walk to a Chinese takeaway/ fish and chips. Quiet after midnight (Friday) and 7am but the few late evening visitors weren't a bother just doing their own thing
Stayed for one night. No problem. Arrived late and left early. Peaceful and relaxing.
Very nice. Close to local amenities.
Had a great night here. Very quiet after 10pm when the skate park is empty and walkers have gone home. Peaceful sound of the river nearby. Would definitely recommend. Very good EE signal. Was able to stream a film.
Stayed here over the Easter bank holiday. Quiet location, with a little phone signal on O2 and Vodafone if you care about that. No problems.
