Unnamed Road, 73900, Rautavaara
Been here?
This nature parking area is the starting point for hiking trails, which leave directly from the site. The access road is extremely rough, with mud and rocks, while the area near the toilet hut is the roomiest and almost level for long vehicles. The remaining parking areas are very sloped. Nights are quiet, with some daytime visitors, several grill places, swimming options, and a circular route of about 11km.

Absolutely fantastic place. Trails start directly from the parking area. The road there is unbelievably bad, with mud and rocks. We had to reverse and gain momentum a couple of times to reach the place. Spot 5/5, road 1/5.
For motorhomes, it is best to park in front of the toilet building. There is the most space there, even for long vehicles, and it is almost level. The rest is very sloped. Super quiet at night, some visitors during the day. The circular trail is very beautiful, about 11 km. Several barbecue areas, with places to swim. There was a jetty for small boats directly at the site, although it did not look very suitable for swimming. The road there has recently been resurfaced with gravel.
Good place for going on a hiking route.
Nice and quiet place for a night. Good hiking trails. The toilet was very smelly and not really dry anymore. Bumpy gravel road to the place, some bigger stones peeping out, so drive carefully.
A wonderful place and starting point for hikes in the national park. A gravity toilet is available. However, the indicated position is not quite correct; the parking area at the end of the road is a little farther south.
