Been here?
This sloping parking area is near the Olympic bobsleigh track and viewpoints over Sarajevo. Recent signs say camping is prohibited, although some overnight stays have been tolerated without problems. The area can be quiet overnight, but aggressive loose dogs have attacked a dog, so extra caution is needed.

We stopped here for a few hours to admire the view over the city and see the remains of the bobsleigh track. Parking is slightly sloped.
Took the risk and ignored the no camper sign. Arrived around 18:30 and left at 9:00, no problems. We didn’t leave the van and kept lights low. Few cars coming in and out which looked a bit strange but had no issues and a peaceful night.
There are now small signs hanging on the trees saying that camping is prohibited. What a shame.
Quite a sloping parking area. We had a quiet night; the bobsleigh track is nearby and highly recommended! We had a peaceful night, although the pack of dogs kept barking from time to time. In the morning, the wild horses passed by several times.
Be very careful if you have a dog. Our dog was attacked while on the lease during a short walk on the parking. A pack of big aggressive dogs came running towards us. Attacking and biting our dog very aggressive. Our dog had a big wound!
A superb stay. Go check out the old bobsleigh track and viewpoint over Sarajevo. Both well worth a visit. And free! No one bothered us in the car park, but there were a few people coming to the carpark up until about midnight. Overnight was very quiet.
Everything good and quiet. We had a very good night.
We slept here for one night and were completely undisturbed. Easy to reach, recommended.
We stayed here for two nights completely undisturbed and never felt unsafe. Portable toilets and rubbish bins are available. The bobsleigh track is also easy to see from here. The absolute highlight was the wild horses that greeted us early in the morning.
Close to the cable car. Wonderful to take the cable car into the city. Depending on the number of people, a taxi may be cheaper for the return. We paid 25 BAM for the taxi. We stayed for two days and one night. No problems and a quiet night.
Excellent place for a walk and overnight stay. It was quiet even on Friday evening. Many walking trails.
We stayed here for the night on friday-Saturday with 2 other campers. Felt completely safe. In the morning it’s a short walk to the bobsleigh - which you have all to yourself :)
We felt completely safe, parked at the end of the parking place for 2 nights and nothing feels shady. Alone during the night, apart from horses and another camper. Even toilet (dixie) available and good spot to start hikes/sunset/bobslet. !! Don’t drive through Sarajevo but take the road: Dervisa Numica if you want to go to the city centre. We got stuck with a small van doing otherwise!!
End of September: we stayed here for 2 nights, went down to Sarajevo via the bobsled track during the day and took the cable car back up (2 people, €15 each). Cable-car tickets can only be bought at the lower station.
Huge free parking lots, both to the right and left of the road. I think the one at the side of the hotel is almost better, as you can drive onto a somewhat hidden area further back. Sleeping here should be fine. However, after all the older comments about car break-ins, I would be careful to leave the car unattended. I made the trip to the bobtrack at sunrise, when everything was still quiet.
Stayed here for one night, even with three personal guard dogs—very loving strays! Everything was quiet, no problems. Nice for walking to the TV tower or the bobsled track.
Stayed here for one night. In the morning we looked at the bobsled track and then continued on. So everything felt safe. There were 4 other campers with us. Rubbish bins and even a pit toilet available.
Choice of 3 car parks at this place, we stayed in the one same side as hotel but furthest away for 2 nights and felt really safe. Lovely spot in nature, no facilities apart from bins but could use hotel for toilets and coffee/breakfast in the morning. Busy during the day but very quiet at night, the occasional car & lots of dogs barking. Close to cable car and bobsled track and easy taxi to city
Big parking under the hotel. Empty and quiet. But for overnight stay we chose next parking spot in the nature.
We spent two quiet nights here. Hiking trailhead. Wi-Fi at the hotel. There are harmless stray dogs and wild horses. Traffic during the day, but not at night.
We stayed here for 2 nights with 2 children. Some barking dogs, but we felt safe. No facilities. Free.
