Am Campingplatz 1, 38700, Braunlage
Been here?
This scenic campsite offers pitches at different heights in quiet natural surroundings, with dogs welcome and good starting points for hiking. The sanitary facilities are new, clean and spacious, and bread rolls can be delivered to the pitch in the morning. A restaurant is available but closed on Mondays, while the nearby road is only occasionally and quietly audible. The operators are friendly and arrivals outside regular hours can be accommodated.

We stayed for a few nights at this very beautiful campsite at the end of June. Since we arrived a little later, a key had been left for us. The welcome was very friendly and helpful. Everything was very clean. In the afternoon, ice lollies were handed out when it was 30 degrees. The site is a good starting point for hikes. We extended our stay by two nights. We would gladly come back.
Dogs welcome! Uncomplicated. Friendly. Top facilities.
...we are here again for the alpaca hike. We would gladly come back....
We stayed here for three nights. Very clean, new and spacious sanitary facilities. Excellent bread-roll service. We were very satisfied.
We stayed here for three nights and are satisfied. The sanitary facilities are clean and modern, but unfortunately there is a noticeable smell coming from the drain and the shower room could be heated a little better. The road is some distance away and can occasionally be heard quietly. The bread-roll service delivered to the pitch is excellent (for us always around 8:00/8:30 a.m.).
Beautiful campsite with spacious pitches. The sanitary facilities are beautiful, clean and brand new. You do not have to pay separately for the showers, and they are wonderfully warm. We usually stay only one night at a campsite, but we liked it so much here that we stayed another night.
Very nice operators; even though we arrived outside regular opening hours, they left an envelope with everything we needed at the gate. Clean sanitary facilities, bread-roll service delivered to the pitch. Excellent starting point for exploring the Brocken.
Everything about the campsite has already been written here, so we can only wholeheartedly recommend this excellent facility with its extremely friendly and committed operators. You do have to like the quality and quantity of the food at the forest restaurant. But that is another story, since the restaurant is unfortunately not run by the campsite operators.
Very beautifully situated terraced campsite. Friendly staff. Clean sanitary facilities. The quality of the pitches varies. The restaurant is very basic, but the bread-roll service is excellent. The Forellenteich forest café is nearby and recommended.
Beautifully situated campsite. Friendly welcome. We had a lovely pitch at the edge of the campsite. Sanitary facilities dated but clean. Showers with a curtain—you have to like that. No problem for us. The village of Hohegeiss is within walking distance, although it is a steep uphill walk; there is a small supermarket there. Bus transport is free with the tickets you receive when registering, for example to Braunlage.
Really lovely camp in a natural and quiet surrounding. Great facilities. Restaurant is traditional and cozy. Slightly steep bike ride to town but doable.
I stayed here for one night in June with a rooftop tent. Super quiet and beautiful site. Great starting point for numerous hikes. I am coming back again in July.
A fantastically friendly and helpful couple running the site—a fantastic, very well-maintained place, with very well-maintained and modern sanitary facilities, quietly located, spacious pitches, and bread-roll service delivered right to the door.
Friendly staff and clean sanitary facilities. I would gladly come back.
The site is somewhat outdated. Although the sanitary facilities have been modernized, they were never really clean and were very cramped. Many pitches are gravelled—uncomfortable and dusty. There is no separate car park; cars constantly drive across the site. Groups often failed to observe the night-time quiet hours. Positive: excellent bread-roll service and very friendly staff.
Friendly welcome, almost level grass/gravel pitches, several terraces, so the walk to the beautiful and clean sanitary facilities may be long. Washing-up areas/kitchen, waste disposal, fresh water on every terrace, bread-roll service delivered to the pitch by advance order, restaurant and playground—all well maintained and clean. Ideal with dogs too, including a dog shower. Hiking trails start at the site.
Unfortunately, we were not very lucky with our pitch right next to the sanitary facilities (broken ventilation fan). The dusty gravel road directly in front of the motorhome, where hardly anyone drives at walking speed, is simply annoying. We naturally mentioned both issues. We were told they were known. It is a shame that nothing is done about them. I do not think we will visit this site again.
A beautiful campsite with very nice staff and very clean sanitary facilities. I would have liked to stay longer. Dogs are warmly welcomed and can even be cleaned in the campsite's own dog shower.
We stayed there for two nights. Super-friendly staff, clean sanitary facilities and simply excellent value for money.
Beautiful site! Very easily accessible with a caravan even in snow! Absolutely nothing to complain about!
Very beautiful campsite with friendly staff and clean, attractive sanitary facilities. You can hike from the campsite to Braunlage within half an hour, and there are also many beautiful hikes starting from the campsite.
I was welcomed warmly and slept in the motorhome parking area in front of the actual campsite. There is a power connection for €4 and you are independent of the barrier. You can walk to town in about 2.5 km. For one night with the van and one person, I paid €19, plus electricity. The sanitary facilities have been fairly recently renovated and are included.
We were here over the holidays with our motorhome and dog, for the second time. Very nice and helpful operators and clean sanitary facilities. Excellent hiking trails nearby. Bread rolls are delivered to the motorhome. We can only recommend this campsite and will definitely come back.
A truly beautiful campsite where you feel as if you are standing in the middle of nature. The pitches down by the stream are by far the best we have experienced so far! All our followers thought we were camping freely in nature! Very nice owners and clean sanitary facilities. We are certainly not here for the last time. Instagram: dievanboys
Excellent, nothing to criticize!!
Very beautiful campsite with friendly owners and clean sanitary facilities. We were actually supposed to stay only one night, but stayed for a week. Beautiful central location in the Harz and only 1.5 km (25 minutes) on foot to Braunlage! We definitely recommend this campsite!
We were not very impressed... The motorhome pitch is in the very last corner, with hardly any sun or moonlight. The walk into town is strenuous... Not suitable for children or older people... They said 20 minutes, but that was being optimistic... We booked two days, but are leaving early and would not visit this site again.
