Cambridge Rd, SG8 6EY, Royston
Been here?
Quiet campsite in a spacious old orchard behind Phillimore Garden Centre, with large pitches and EHU included. Check in and cash payment are at the garden centre, where there is also a cafe; a deposit is required for the overnight gate. Toilets and showers are basic and old, while fresh water, waste disposal, recycling bins, a chemical toilet point and laundry are available. The site is beside a road with continuous traffic noise, and some residential caravans are present.

Really enjoyed my stay here, a peaceful setting in an orchard, with a friendly welcome at the garden center. Cash-only payment. I would definitely return if given the opportunity.
Very nice campsite for £17 in cash, with a very friendly welcome.
A lovely, quiet, pretty grassed area set amongst fruit trees. Friendly staff, and a café at the garden centre where you pay (cash only). Toilets and showers are basic but water is warm - much appreciated as my water heater was playing up. Washing machine (£4 uses £2 coins), dryer (uses £1). Electricity included which was great. Adults only site due to some full-time residents - nice and peaceful.
£16 with electricity. Dirty toilets and showers, but nice and quiet.
Hallo, well what a surprise! The camping area is at the back of the garden center. The camping areas are boarded from fruit trees. Its loverly, its quiet and not far from Royston. In the garden center is a cafe were you can also get good meals. The tiolets and showers are not that good but all wohnmobils have them on board. Have fun I certainly will when I come again. Thank you.
Very nice parking area. Sanitary facilities only deserve one star, as they are not only very old but also dirty and moldy. If you are self-sufficient, everything is great. Free fruit to pick. Unfortunately, all the surrounding areas are rubbish dumps. The road is quite loud and busy 24 hours a day. We paid £18 per night including electricity.
Parking area in the middle of a hidden orchard that cannot be seen from the garden center. Ripe plums and blackberries to pick—wonderful! Electricity is included in the £16. Highly recommended!
A beautiful place with spacious pitches. Trees full of fruit that I was allowed to pick. I made delicious elderberry juice! Bus 26 takes 35 minutes, or by bike it is 55 minutes to Cambridge. Motorhomes are not allowed to park at the park-and-ride. We visited the Fitzwilliam Museum. Highly worthwhile! I found the campsite facilities too dirty and did not use them.
Had a great stay! £16 for a large pitch, all-in. Adults only though! 4 toilets/4 showers and washing machine and dryer available for extra. Facilities are basic and pretty old and moldy but clean. Grounds are a tidy chaos! Went berry-picking and if you’re lucky the apples and plums are in season. Ask for a pitch in the garden center, pay cash only!
What a vibe! A hidden gem! We had an incredibly lovely few days. The staff are friendly, very welcoming, and eager to help. The facilities are old but clean and functional! Once again, thank you for the personal attention and wonderful time! The pitches are very spacious and have electricity. £16 all-in is absolutely worth it!
Report to the garden center. Friendly, helpful welcome. The sanitary facilities are very outdated. Beautiful, spacious pitches in the orchard. Excellent campsite for visiting Cambridge. Leave the motorhome at the Trumpington Park & Ride and take the shuttle bus into town. A nice pub nearby also serves very good food.
Absolute paradise being parked up in an orchard with the sound of birdsong. Total silence apart from an occasional train passing but at distance. Thank you to the owner for providing this facility. Site residents very friendly too.
Very pretty orchard. £16 per night on 11 May 2025, with electricity included.
Not open until the end of March.
£15 for a motorhome with electricity. Basic but clean sanitary facilities. Nice owner and beautiful pitches.
Large camping spots in an orchard. Showers, toilets, and a dishwashing room. Friendly staff. The garden center offers all-day breakfasts. I definitely recommend it. It's a short distance to the train station with connections to London or Cambridge.
Superb little spot, indeed difficult to find. You must arrive before 6 p.m., otherwise the gate is closed.
