Delph Lane, PR3
Been here?
A quiet hardstanding spot beside Delph Lane Quarry, suitable for about 2 campervans and fairly level. It offers attractive views and peaceful overnight stops, with almost no traffic between 10pm and 6:00 am, although the road is busier during the day. Tall nettles can obscure much of the view in late July. Mobile reception is limited, and the approach can be tricky for less confident drivers.

Lovely quiet spot. Slightly disappointing that in late July the 6-foot nettles obscured most of the view. Fairly level, with almost no traffic between about 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.
perfect for an overnight break on the way to Scotland
Great spot! - very calm and peaceful overnight - Absolutely amazing views - plenty of room for my extra long wheel-base van - 2 downsides are to get decent signal (EE) you have to go to the gate just above, and the road can get quite busy in the day time. Was an amazing night sleep!
Stayed here 15/04/2026 had the place to myself, great stop one of the best - be aware no phone signal on O2 network and quite a tricky drive if you’re not confident. Will certainly be back great stop - as per the others.
First wild sleep and it didn’t disappoint! Great views, tucked away from main roads and only a few cars/trucks passed whilst we were there. Fairly level ground and great for a one night stop off. Don’t forget to say hi to the sheep in the field behind!
Stayed overnight 24-02-2026. Hard standing with room for two. Fairly level. Close to the motorway though very quiet. Delph lane is not very busy at all. Like others have said someone has burnt rubbish at the back of the hard standing. Quiet night. Wake up to bird song
Lovely quiet spot, perfect for an overnight stay, with lots of great walks to explore too.
Nice spot, a shame that the previous occupents left a fire scar and their rubbish. It would be great if people could leave things how they found them, and show a little respect.
Location was lovely, walks nearby, the car park itself is tucked off the road - there was a few passing cars. However, some inconsiderate people ruined it, a car pulled up after driving past numerous times, turned their music up really loud, started beeping their horn, getting out the car, shouting at us and then proceeded to throw something at the van before speeding off.
Pretty out of the way but easy enough to find. Very quiet other than a few passing cars in the morning, it was just us here but room for 3 vans, and quite flat!
Unfortunately you can't see the view directly from your vehicle because of high bramble n weed hedges. Still lovely and peaceful though :) Make sure you are going to Delph Lane car park specifically, as I googled Delph Lane separately from the app and it took us to a different Delph Lane, 3.5 miles away. There's a bit bigger park up place there but with lots of signs saying no overnight parking.
Very beautiful place, with a great view and a small path to walk up. Space for about three campers. Small access road with passing places and little traffic.
Great night's sleep here. No other vans and a very quiet road.
Lovely little spot, sheltered from view. There is no direct view; you have to walk a little, but then you get an absolutely amazing view stretching for miles. Space for two large campers or three smaller ones. Many walking routes. No facilities.
Very quiet, with a nice little walk. Easy to find.
Great little spot, calm and quiet. Everything we needed!
Very quiet and dark, private, amazing.
Space for three vehicles if parked carefully. Nice, quiet stopover for us on the way to Edinburgh. A few cars pass during the night.
En route to Scotland; arrived after midnight and left before 10.00. Maybe 4-5 cars passed in total. Just an hours drive to the Lakes. Would stay again
lovely little spot, but only big enough for 3 or so vans, so if the spaces are gone, you're out of luck!
Sheltered from the wind and very little passing traffic. Perfect quiet spot out of the way and a dog walk.
Great place with lush views and you can see for miles there is very little service but a nice walk by a field with lots of sheep and the quarry is not far from the car park and are dogs had lots of fun running around the rocks and grass
Another visit to this beautiful spot, with nice dog walks.
Great spot, not very flat but okay. Traffic passes in the morning, but it is very quiet at night.
Awesome spot, sheltered from the road. We did not stay because someone had dumped what looked and smelled like farm waste. A shame—we would have stayed anyway, but it really stank.
