This free parking area behind the fortress is close to Niš centre and quiet at night, although it is busy during the day. The centre is a 10min walk away, and a dog-walking area is available. The location is somewhat hidden behind a service station, with a grassy area and occasional passing dogs. A bakery is nearby.

We stayed here last night after reading the reviews. A quiet and safe place. We stayed very comfortably. There was also plenty of space to walk our dogs. In the morning, we went to the bakery and even bought fresh börek. Close to the center. A beautiful location. Suitable for staying free of charge.
Great spot. Busy during the day but quite empty at night. 10-minute walk to the center.
Free parking behind the fortress, somewhat hidden behind a service station.
Turning right shortly before the fortress entrance onto the dirt road, there is a large, very pleasant grassy area. Some passersby and friendly dogs, but very quiet at night.
