Good roadside spot. Friendly little town with lots of shops just a couple of steps away. No services. We arrived on a Saturday around 5 p.m. and there was space. However, the car park filled up shortly afterwards and is heavily used by locals. Slightly sloping. Not suitable for vehicles over 6 metres.
We stayed overnight in a 6-metre camper van. It stuck out a little, but not enough to cause a problem. Lovely quiet night; we visited the castle and had something to eat at the pub. It didn't feel residential, and everyone we met was very friendly.
Residential area where you shouldn't stay overnight. Besides that, there is no space in the car park.
Small car park for free overnight stays in Bolsover. It was very quiet at night; it only became busier from 7 a.m. We thought it was fine for one night, with a visit to the castle the next morning. The small sandwich shop right by the car park is highly recommended.
There’s a castle! Some people might like this place, but we won’t be back.
