I arrived in the morning and visited the archaeological site, which was beautiful. Then I had lunch in the camper and took a long walk through the beautiful countryside to the Arcadian Gate. We slept peacefully, apart from a few barking dogs. You mainly hear birds singing here—what a lovely place!
Perfect for visiting Ancient Messene. Dogs are even allowed inside, provided you bring the vaccination booklet.
Parking is fine and quiet, not very flat, and especially convenient because it is right next to the site entrance. No problem spending the night. I had no security concerns.
We have just stopped in this parking area. The police arrived at the same time as us. Two cars had just been broken into. We will therefore not visit the Messene site.
Very quiet place, ideal for spending the night or visiting the archaeological site, which is just over a kilometer away. The only drawback is the slope. With our small van, we found only one almost flat spot.
We stayed here in the excavation parking area and spent a very peaceful night alone. Since it is a dead end, there is no traffic at night. There are several level spaces and some shade from small trees.
Quiet and flat. Water at the cemetery and at the site entrance. Trash bins. Close to the site and museum. Warning: you can hear jackals at night.
