Riverside swimming, difficult access

Spot very close to the La Dourbie river. You can hear the river but cannot see it from this enclosed location. Only one space. Very quiet for spending the night. The departmental road is nearby but has little traffic. Fellow motorists, as all the other comments say, a word of advice: do not go down the track without a 4x4. You will not be able to get back up. There is signal at the site.

Ideal for a 4x4 van; difficult track for turning around. Nice spot near the Dourbie.

Great spot, very quiet and very close to the river, which is easy to swim in. Very relaxing. The only drawback is the huge number of invasive butterflies, probably because of the season. ATTENTION: 4x4 vehicles only.

Great spot!! But 4x4 only; the bend is very tight. We had to use four-wheel drive to get back up.

I confirm the previous review: the spot is really excellent, but you must be sure you can get back up. I managed it in reverse!

Attention!!!!! The access road is very complicated!!! A 4x4 is practically essential. We spent one night here. The spot itself is fantastic, but it is impossible to get back up alone; we had to call roadside assistance. The gravel track is slippery, with many holes that can stop a motorhome, and there are steep slopes—much worse when wet.

Great spot to settle down right by the water with nobody around, very peaceful. IMPORTANT: The climb back up by normal car is very, very difficult; a 4x4 is necessary! Park up top and walk down. Please respect nature by leaving no trace.

WARNING! We spent a quiet night here alone. Lovely place with access to the river. Unfortunately, the next day we could not get back up the gravel track in our automatic-transmission VW California. Nobody will come to get you if you get stuck—not a tow truck, roadside assistance, 112/17, etc. It is a private, unmarked road. It took us four hours to get out of there!

Incredible spot, but not accessible to everyone. The climb back up is indeed difficult. The ground is relatively flat, with a private descent to the river. We spent one night here in a rooftop tent; it was rather cold until the first rays of sunshine arrived around 9:30 a.m.

A little piece of paradise, peaceful and secluded. But we confirm that access is not easy. Take it slowly on the way down; the hardest part is leaving—the vehicle struggles to gain traction, but with a good run-up it eventually makes it. For information, we managed it in a Laguna.

Clean place, so leave it clean, and really pleasant. Access to the water with a private pebble beach. Close to the road, admittedly, but it has little traffic and there are no overlooking properties. Fishing area. Difficult access for vans. Suitable for experienced drivers on rough terrain or 4x4s. It is possible to check the route on foot, since the difficult section is only 30 metres.

Attention: even by car this is a difficult spot—you may need to reverse out if you have front-wheel drive—but it is paradise! Two beaches, three spaces.
