Barton Street, DN37 7TT, Aylesby
Been here?
A simple lay-by on the southbound side of a dual carriageway, separated from the road by trees and overlooking fields. It has no facilities apart from litter bins, and some litter remains. Recent overnight stays were problem-free and road noise was not bad, although earlier reports describe heavier traffic and occasional late-night approaches.

A simple lay-by separated from the road by trees. No facilities and there’s some litter but we had no problems and were not bothered by anyone. We would stay overnight again.
Great spot for a night or 2, quiet at night as you are far enough from the road, strangely a chap walked very close to our van as well as the others parked up, then walked back again, he gave us a wide berth as our close protection officer warned him off!! ( large German shepherd!!!)
stopped off here for a night, was approached by 2 guys around 1am in a transit van asking what I was upto (friendly) while I was sat with window open then moved on to the next vehicle and so on before leaving, 99% sure they was after some man o man action, apart from that very quiet night and felt at ease there.
Parked here overnight with no issues. Road noise wasn’t bad at all!
Flat parking lay-by, at the side of a busy A road. There’s plenty of road noise, but use ear plugs and you’ll be fine. Litter is a problem here though. Very busy with 5 other vans, but there was plenty of room.
Far enough away from the main road to feel safe for the night. Some road noise but nothing too bad. There’s a service station just down the road, which was nice for in the morning. Major downside to this lay-by is that it’s on the southbound side of the road; so if you’re travelling north, you have to go out of your way to turn back around to get to it. Definitely does a job though.
Good spot. I have stopped here a few times with no problems at all; it is well away from the main road.
Passed by today. Dirty place. I left immediately.
Good location to stop. Stayed for two nights with no issues. The layby is located behind some trees with views of the farmers fields. It is a popular place to stop for motorists. However, no one was noisy or disruptive. Mobile signal was mediocre. The bins are still here. It is quiet through the night (no beepers) and traffic noise picks up at about 6 am.
