Been here?
This is a free parking area beside Monsanto Park, useful for visiting the park and walking dogs. It is close to busy roads, so traffic noise is noticeable, and the parking often fills after 9 in the morning. The surface is flat with limited shade, but the area is dirty and recent reports have raised security concerns. There are no services.

Free parking, but from nine in the morning it is already occupied. To park here, it is better to arrive at 8.
Little shade, but some trees provide shelter. Great for walking in the park with a dog. Very dirty parking area. We had dinner there, and cars kept arriving, checking the place, and leaving. Always single men. It did not feel threatening, but rather as if locals use the place for certain encounters. We did not stay to find out.
I arrived, parked, and noticed that two cars had broken windows; everything inside had been rummaged through. I thought it best to leave immediately. I would not leave my camper there for even two minutes. Maybe it is good for sleeping, but the area is very rough. Too bad, because it seems like a strategic spot. I parked under the Vasco da Gama bridge and found it serene and peaceful.
It could not be any nicer! I felt very safe spending the night here alone.
Quiet but also close to the road. Perfect for arriving at night and sleeping; during the day it seems to fill up, so it should be safe.
We arrived on August 16, 2024. It was far too hot, there was no shade at all, and we did not like what we saw while walking around the area; it did not feel safe. We decided to leave for another place.
Of the various street parking areas we passed before finding this one, this was the one that gave us the most confidence, as the whole area had felt rather unsafe. Even so, it is fine for spending one night; the noise from cars and an occasional plane did not bother us much.
Flat parking area, fairly convenient for maneuvering even with a 7-meter vehicle. Practical for visiting Lisbon because it is right above Campolide station. Hiking routes also start from this parking area. We did not sleep there, so I cannot comment on the noise.
Parking area for starting hiking routes; it empties considerably during the night. We spent two nights without any problem.
We slept here for one night without any problems.
Lots of cars until late evening, good spot to visit Monsanto park. No services, no lights, quite dirty and the places are not suitable for the biggest caravans. We didn’t sleep there but it should be fine, didn’t see any suspicious people around. Lots of traffic on the nearby streets, Lidl 12mins on foot.
