Free gravel parking at Col du Tourmalet (2100m). Very popular and often crowded, especially weekends. Spectacular mountain views and quiet nights; traffic noise during day. Café and info center nearby. Overnight parking possible but parking may be tilted; leveling recommended. Ideal for Pic du Midi hike or sunrise viewing.

The gravel parking area on the bend was so full late in the afternoon that we parked and spent the night on the roadside. Even with leveling chocks, we were still somewhat tilted. The views on both sides of the pass were fantastic. Very quiet night. In the morning, sheep grazed around our motorhome. Internet very weak. Waste container by the roadside at the pass summit.
On the pass parking area, overnight stays are possible if you respect the site. Many neighbors, but the view is superb. We arrived in the clouds, then the sky cleared. However, we were surprised by vehicles coming and going in the middle of the night (yes, some people travel at night…).
Excellent place!
There are also long parking spaces along the roadside where we could park our campervan comfortably.
A must-stop if you are in the area. Dirt parking area, very busy even in the low season during the day. Spectacular views 150 meters away on the Luz-Saint-Sauveur side. The climb via Campan is gentler, but check your brakes when descending toward Luz-Saint-Sauveur. Major improvement works are underway on both sides of the pass.
Ah, this is an exceptional site. Magnificent view. We arrived in the evening in fog, with visibility of 20 meters. But in the morning, pure happiness with the cows and goats. It is really worth driving up. And how peaceful the night is, with no light pollution.
Free dirt parking area located at the Col du Tourmalet, with a nearby café-restaurant and information center. We spent a peaceful night there and watched the herds, llamas, a vulture and an eagle.
Fantastic place to sleep at 2100m! At the end of October before the snow came we were alone! And rewarded with a fabulous sunrise and cloud inversion, before walking up to the Pic the Midi. Would recommend.
I spent Sunday night to Monday there; it was very peaceful, and the fog spared the sunrise. The parking area is generally busy (I have passed by many times and it is always packed, especially on weekends). There were four of us sleeping there. Perfect for setting out in the morning to visit the Pic du Midi.
Ideal place to spend the night. In August there were three cars. Super-quiet night. Incredible views.
Superb place, but at this time of year spaces are scarce! Just a sandy dirt parking area with lots of dust, but the view is breathtaking. We slept there peacefully for one night, and waking up to the sound of cowbells and sheep in the parking area was wonderful. Ideally located for walking to Lac Bleu or the Pic du Midi.
Incredible views, quiet at night.
Parking area at the Col du Tourmalet with many spaces. Easy access. Very pleasant for spending the night. Magnificent view over the Pyrenees park.
Only the upper parking area is level. A lot of people and extremely heavy traffic on the road (very noisy). The only good thing is the views on both sides of the pass.
Perfect. Wonderful and peaceful night.
A cool night, spectacular view, starry sky. A must-do.
Simply beautiful! Slept wonderfully and woke up with the cows and sheep walking past our motorhome.
Fantastic location and views. No services, however there is a cafe. Some pitches are level but the majority are on a slope.
