Strada Statale 202, 34149, Trieste
Been here?
This is a large wild parking area with some flat pitches, suitable for overnight stays and walks on the Trieste Karst. The ground is uneven, and recent reports mention only one bin and no water. Highway noise is audible, while morning visitors, workers and occasional traffic reduce privacy. Strong winds can make sleeping difficult.

Large area with a park and animals next to it. Few flat spots; you can hear the highway a little below. There are other campers. Satisfactory for spending the night. Only one bin, no water. You can also use the paved spaces a little further back.
We arrived after dark and there was lots of space to park and a few other campers. the terrain is a little uneven, but there are flat areas. we slept well but there are people visiting the area in the morning, so you won't have lots of privacy. donkeys are a plus, if you don't mind the occasional sound in the night
Very quiet and very large place that can accommodate many vehicles. I recommend it only when the weather is not windy. We spent a night here recently and strong gusts of wind kept us from sleeping. There was a lot of noise from the trees and from our rooftop tent fabric. Otherwise, it is a very good place. Just pay attention to the weather.
A quick night with a T4 camper and a tent. Occasional pedestrians and car traffic. We were there on a weekend when the school next door was closed. Tall grass and only a few level spots, but ultimately a very nice place for one or more nights.
They came twice in a row to play Fast and Furious in the parking area, pulling handbrake turns and driving at full speed within 3 meters of the van. As a result, I left.
We spent one night without any problems, peacefully. It is not flat everywhere, but access is easy.
I strongly advise against it. The ground is sloped and covered with large stones; there is a paved area farther away, but it is right next to a dog park. The dogs barked all evening, during the night, and in the morning.
We slept one night there arrived it was already dark. It’s quite a big area, with lots of shade. There’s people working close to the area in the morning. And lots of cars came in the morning. I think it’s safe to sleep there but not a lot of privacy or “special place”.
I do not know whether it was because we arrived in the dark, but the place was very eerie. People were taking dogs to the adjacent park. A few cars and scooters came and went for no obvious reason. We could not sleep because of the number of mosquitoes. We stopped only because we were tired of driving. Convenient because it is close to the highway.
very good for a night sleep, the only flat part is at the top of the parking place a few other vans and cars arrived late at night the highway is nearby and can be heard but it's nothing some earplugs won't solve. police dropped by around 8 am but did not wake us or leave a fine
Large parking area near the highway, but very little noise. Flat spot at the top near the fence and under the trees. Beautiful open view.
Lots of spaces, though not necessarily flat, but if you drive a little farther there is a paved section. We slept here for two nights without any problems. Locals walk their dogs here in the morning, but it is relatively quiet even with the highway not far away. I recommend it!
When we arrived there were other campers, which made me feel safe because the place is not lit at night. In the morning people come to the adjacent park, which also has a few animals. For example, while I drank my coffee, I was accompanied by the eyes of four little donkeys. :)
Pretty spacious nice place. It’s near a highway, so you can hear some sound in the background, but it didn’t disturb our sleep at all. We arrived at 8 PM and only one car was there. In the morning it became a bit busier, between 8-9 AM five car passed by. The place is right next to a fence with sheep and donkeys, so you get a nice company in the morning.
Great spot for stopping overnight. We were alone and did not feel unsafe. You can hear the road a little, but it did not prevent us from having a good night’s sleep. It is also nice to see and hear the donkeys in the adjacent field.
Nice place. It is peaceful and surrounded by nature, with sheep, donkeys, and cows. We arrived at night and nobody was there. When we woke up, some Italians were pitching a tent right next to our car... :D
The entrance is very damaged but passable. However, it is not level at all and there is quite a lot of traffic late in the day. We decided to go to the rest-area parking lot right next door, which was much better (flat and quiet). Police passed by in the morning, but there were no problems.
Inaccessible when coming from the highway; it can only be reached by coming up from Trieste. Very rocky—4x4 recommended—with few flat areas and infested with grass awns. Avoid it if you have a dog.
We stayed one night. It was very quiet, and the donkeys in the evening were a lovely surprise. There are also picnic tables nearby.
We stayed one night with our van, slept good. Big place but not all flat, easy to reach 10 minutes from the Trieste, some trees quiet only a little noise from the road and dogs around barking but not so near
Beautiful spot; we spent a peaceful night. In the morning sociable donkeys and sheep arrived to wish us good morning!
A great spot where we spent one night. Quiet place, with a few animal noises (donkeys and goats), but that is part of its charm!
