Mountain camping, rough narrow approach

One of the most beautiful places on our trip through Albania! Easily accessible with a Sprinter L2H2. Some areas are barely visible even to hikers passing during the day because of the bushes and trees, and the starry sky at night is fantastic!

Beautiful spot! Manageable with a standard T5. The road up is narrow, and passing traffic can make things difficult, so large vehicles need strong nerves. I would follow the map here on Park4Night rather than Google Maps, which otherwise takes you onto private property at a junction.

Very peaceful spot by a beautiful river. Breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. Very quiet at night; a few hikers pass during the day. We reached it without four-wheel drive and without any problems in a Ford Transit L3H3.

We drove in with a 2WD car. There are many clearings where you can park, so I don't think anyone will run out of space. Incidentally, there is a free camping spot in front, also a good and clean place, but without a panorama of the mountains. I recommend both spots.

Beautiful spot. We stayed here for three nights, climbed Harapit, and swam in the river with the kids. We have a 7-meter, two-wheel-drive motorhome and drove from the village; we couldn't take the other way out because it was too steep for us. I wouldn't recommend driving the road from the village with a large motorhome if you are precious about it.

We stayed here for two nights because we hiked Maja e Harapit (tip: start early), and the place was the perfect base. A few hikers pass by from time to time, but from 7 p.m. it is completely quiet. The approach is somewhat bumpy, but easily manageable with our Skoda Superb 4x4. The scenery is simply fantastic, and the river is right next door for cooling off.

Amazing spot. If you are not brave enough, you can camp for free at Sokol's Cafe, perhaps 1 km before this place. With my 2WD T4, it was quite easy to reach, although some ground clearance is necessary. Perfect spot to start hiking up to the saddle. There is also water in the stream: there is water only a little above Theth itself, then none, and it appears again here in mid-August 2023.

Absolute wilderness. Accessible with a VW bus, but not for the faint-hearted. Wonderful starry sky. Highly recommended!

The river has found new channels. We stopped beside the riverbed near the bunker. The night was quiet. In the afternoon, however, we had many visitors: hikers from Peja Pass and the taxi buses picking up tourists from the hut. No litter!

Thanks for this tip and the good description! We spent two nights in the almost-dry riverbed. With an off-road vehicle, it is best to drive through the stream and find a cozy spot among the bushes. We saw no litter there, of course left none, and please let it stay that way. The hike to Peja Pass and Peja Lake is wonderfully beautiful!

Very nice campsite with a pool, beautiful surroundings, and shady pitches, especially for hot days. The sanitary facilities are clean and very well maintained. We felt very comfortable.
