Y25, Ballinahillen
Been here?
Ballinahillen is a wild spot in the woods with space for one large vehicle and one smaller one, plus forest walks nearby. There are no facilities. Access is via about 3 km of increasingly narrow, potholed roads from Camolin and the Maxol station, with the last km on a fairly wide forest road. It is generally very quiet, but the area is used for hunting during the season.

A real little corner of paradise. Very peaceful, and the parking area is large. The last kilometre is on a fairly wide forest road with many potholes, but access is still very easy.Translating
Very peaceful night, and we were alone! Arrive via Camolin and turn at the old Maxol petrol station. You will drive 3 km on increasingly smaller, potholed roads, but they are completely passable. You arrive in the middle of the woods! It is a hunting ground during the season.Translating
Nothing wrong, but got a bad gut feeling about this place. When we got out we heard a bunch of barking then some squealing - this is hunting ground. We decided not to stay.
ignore where Google maps tries to direct you, you have to come via the village adjacent to the Maxol petrol station. Once you hit the dirt road it is quite potholed but doable slowly. spent the night calm and quiet, good walks around for dogs, only two dogwalkers in the evening and a horsebox to exercise a pony. take your rubbish with you to keep places like this available please.
