Champ du Béal, 38350, Susville
Been here?
A spacious, mostly flat countryside spot for vans and 4/4s, with mountain views and a hiking departure nearby. The final access to the hunters’ cabin is currently difficult, and the village approach is narrow for large vehicles. There are no services, while the adjacent hunting house can bring noise and recent conditions included many flies and mosquitoes.

Quiet place, but overrun with flies and mosquitoes; we eventually left.
Great spot at the end of April. Come outside hunting season and during the week. Hiking departure point. Quiet place.
The final section up to the hunters' cabin has taken a beating and access is mediocre. For one night, we stayed in the parking area just below and it was perfect, with only the sound of crickets and cowbells.
Narrow road through the village: beware of heavy goods vehicles! Once at the parking area, it is a meeting place for local youths: music, alcohol... Forget about peace and quiet :(
The hunters disturbed us, so we did not stay.
Very pleasant spot, easy and level parking. Quiet, with the sound of cowbells lulling us to sleep. Twenty metres from the parking area, there is a superb viewpoint for breakfast and sunrise!
We spent the night alone in the middle of nature. Hiking starts here. No services. Please respect the place.
A place in the middle of nature where you can hear cowbells. However, in early September, outside hunting season, we had the unpleasant surprise of hunters arriving at 6:15 a.m. in the cabin next to the parking area. I would say avoid weekends outside hunting season if you want peace and quiet.
Very quiet (we were alone with our van). Very spacious spot. Fewer flies than downstream. The area is flat. Start of a hiking trail. Easy access from Vizille.
Simply beautiful! We had a sunny day in the snow with wonderful views. We walked uphill through the snow for about 50 minutes to get a 360-degree panoramic view. We were completely alone at night, with only a few cars and hikers during the day. Absolutely recommended!
