This small, partly level gravel parking area at 1230m offers solitude, excellent valley views and direct access to hiking routes. There are no services, and recent stays were quiet with few visitors. The access road is somewhat bumpy but driveable, and the place should be approached from the north.

We spent a quiet night here. Ideal for hikes or a walk. No services available, so take your rubbish with you. The site is very clean; it would be great if it stays that way.
Parking lot with a great view and pleasant hikes. Gravelly and reasonably level. Few visitors. The access road is somewhat bumpy but easy to drive. Very little rubbish for Sicily! OSM/Organic Maps and Garmin both navigate here correctly.
Wonderful spot. Flat. Solitude. You can only come from the north and even then Google Maps will try to send you down the wrong small roads. The only road you can take you should input into your GPS coordinates 37.855608, 14.986842. Here you will see a wide road and a green sign that says “Benvenuti nel parco dell’Etna”. This is the road you want. Drive until it ends.
Attention! Access only via SS 120 and from Montelaguardia to Ragazzo if starting east of Etna; otherwise you will get stuck on the narrow road lined with walls. The last kilometer is also bumpy but okay. Difficult in snow. The site itself is great! Incredible view! Wonderful hiking routes.
Google Maps suggests various access routes. Coming from the south, none were acceptable for us—extremely steep and narrow. We turned around on the main road, then coming from the north took the second suggested route. Very wide, paved and easy to drive. Only the last 3 km are bumpy, but if you drive slowly it is not a major problem. The road is wide enough for all vehicles.
Great spot in nature. The only thing you hear at night is the bull's bell, which cannot actually come near you. Beautiful hike uphill and back downhill to a refuge (where you could also stay overnight) and a solidified lava flow from 2016, with possibly another flow from around 1600. 3.5 kilometers each way, or 3.6 kilometers via another route.
The road is suuuupppeer bumpy on the way up but if our 30 year old van can do it, so can yours! :) Great place, cows and donkeys near by and 2 hours hike takes you to a beautiful old lava flows from 1624 Etna eruption.
Super panoramic spot, very easy arrival with a 5-meter van, even at night (GPS indicates several alternative roads; follow the widest one bordered by a wooden fence). Shaded parking at the back near the start of the northern Etna trek. Silence and an immense starry sky. The volcano accompanied us on the climb, with red lava fragments glowing in the distance.
Literally the end of the road ! Beautiful nature spot at 1230m altitude inside the Etna Parc. make sure to take water and food supplies and you will ba All Good!
Bumpy road up here but a perfect overnight stop directly next to the walks in the area. Stayed 2 nights.
Small, wonderful, quiet hiking parking area in beautiful nature with a great view. Very long, somewhat bumpy access road, but worthwhile if you want to hike on Etna's northern flank (highly recommended!). We stayed two nights completely undisturbed.
Great quiet spot with a beautiful view!
Simple and beautiful, on the north side of Etna. We arrived around noon and went for a hike. The evening was very quiet and we had a pleasant, relaxing night.
Very nice place to stay. Nice views of the country side down below. Bonus was meeting a group of retired Guardia Forestiera which we're kind enough to give us directions. Lots of animal tracks on the freshly sprinkled snow.
