This parking area has 3 marked places beside the Canal du Midi, close to Carcassonne La Bastide’s cafés, shops and restaurants. The medieval La Cité is a few kilometres away, and the lower town is about 10 minutes on foot. The avenue is fairly busy and can be noisy, although the canal view is attractive. There are no services.

Very nice... parked in the shade. Pity the avenue has quite a lot of traffic. But the view is superb.
The two or three pitches are directly beside the canal, which is very dirty. No TV reception is possible there because of the tall trees. Young adults also hang around there with their cars. They approached us too. We thought about it and then preferred to find another place.
We arrived around 10:45 am; all spaces were taken up by cars :(
We parked here to visit the city. A lovely walk along the canal and through the lower town before heading uphill; it is a good location. There are also spaces all along the canal. We arrived around 10:30 on a Friday and had no difficulty.
we arrived 3pm one day and left 5 pm the next day. left the van during the day while we explored and all was safe. not too noisy at night. enough free spaces.
At this time of year there is space and it seems safe. No facilities, but it is in the village. There is a sign for motorhome parking.
If you are lucky enough to find a parking space, it is perfect for visiting the village.
No space; as usual, they are occupied by cars.
We slept well. The road is loud during the day, but the night was okay. A great option in this location.
Okay for one night. The parking in the rest of the city seemed pretty sketchy, so we decided to stay here but because it‘s right next to a busy road, we didn‘t stay longer.
