80 Rue des Hauteurs, 57350, Spicheren
Been here?
Parking is reportedly forbidden at this historical war memorial, and parking or picnicking is prohibited by a sign at the entrance. The site has views towards Germany and is near woodland, but there are no services. A nearby cemetery parking area was used instead.

Beautiful spot but there’s a sign at the entrance (crossed out green tree + bench) that forbids parking/ picnic at this spot, it’s a historical monument. We decided to park at the nearby cemetery instead
Very quiet. You hear nothing except birdsong. No facilities, of course, as this is primarily a memorial site for the Franco-Prussian War of 1870. Beautiful place that should be respected.
I missed the correct road to this parking area and ended up at the car park by Restaurant Woll. It is also possible to spend the night at this other, slightly sloping car park.
The good thing was the view. The upper section near the restaurant is extremely sloped and unsuitable for standing. It is somewhat better by the large cross. However, cars drove very close by all night, and it is a meeting place for young people who play loud music and leave their rubbish behind. We stayed for one night from Saturday to Sunday.
Very quick to reach from the A6, wonderfully quiet in a forested setting.
Good place to spend the night in your campervan when passing through. We found it strange to park directly at the memorial monument itself, as shown in one of the photos, so we parked closer to the restaurant instead. Quiet surroundings.
A very beautiful place to spend the night. There are many historical trails with information boards about the wars of the 19th and 20th centuries. There are no rubbish bins. Young locals were also there and left their rubbish behind, which unfortunately reflects badly on campers. Please simply remove the obvious litter for the sake of this wonderful place and the environment.
Good place to spend the night. If needed, the restaurant is within sight. If you have time, you can take a journey through history; information is also available in German.
Nice and quiet despite being on a through road. We stayed one weekday night, and between midnight and 6 a.m. it was completely silent.
Very quiet location and quick to reach from the A6. Restaurant Woll is very pleasant and does not always lock the toilets. Unfortunately, there is no rubbish bin nearby—please leave the place clean and preserve its welcoming atmosphere.
