Route du Plan du Moulin, 73530, Saint-Sorlin-d'Arves
Been here?
This large parking area is beside the ski lifts and within a short walk of the village. It is free, mostly flat and close to hiking trails, with a water point beyond the roundabout where the buses run, past the bridge. Summer comments describe quiet nights, nearby children’s games and the sound of the river. The area is also used by buses and coaches.

A large parking area right by the ski lifts and a short walk from the pleasant village. We stayed for two nights. For water, drive a little farther past the roundabout where the buses go; there is a tap on the left after the bridge.
Jan 14 2025. Unfortunately Saint Sorlin is not motorhome friendly. No dedicated motorhome parking. In with the buses and coaches and they are not happy about you being there. There were no other motorhomes parked here so, I left. Probably okay in the Summer as not so many buses/coaches.
Bus parking next to the river (another parking area has a barrier). No prohibition on staying self-contained, close to the center on foot; otherwise there is a free shuttle. A small wooded path leads to the cheese dairy. The night was more or less quiet, apart from nightclub traffic drifting around the parking area, snow clearing at 4 a.m., and bus drivers warming up their buses for half an hour. Not great, but there is no other motorhome parking.
Summer review: perfect for settling in and enjoying beautiful walks. Children’s games and a nearby bin. Perfect for enjoying the pleasures of the mountains in this season.
Very large paved parking area, with the possibility of parking along the river. Free, flat, illuminated at night, and quiet apart from the sound of the water. A water point near the chairlift. No services; those are 1 km away in the direction of La Chambre. Recommended for one night or more. Playground nearby, five minutes from the center. Eight motorhomes stayed overnight.
There is indeed space, but you have to put up with the bad mood of the drivers, who do not appreciate your presence. In addition, the municipal police visit at 7 a.m. to make you leave because buses are arriving. Apparently they no longer want us. We moved to another resort.
Very quiet in September. Hiking nearby. Very pleasant local businesses.
You can stay there, but it is completely bleak: a huge parking area without a particularly good view. I preferred to drive into the mountains.
We took the chairlift for a walk along the ridge and returned to the resort on foot. Beautiful walk. If the sound of the water bothers you, take earplugs and everything will be fine. Lots of hiking trails.
