A municipal campsite of the kind that are increasingly rare. Peaceful, on the banks of the Allier. Swimming in the river and canoeing. The village of Chilhac is worth visiting, with its basalt organs. Price: €31 for two nights for one motorhome, two people, and electricity. Decent sanitary facilities. A very beautiful place for us in May. We were completely alone. The site seemed closed, but one phone call later the friendly operator arrived. Water, electricity, toilet, and shower—all available. No disposal facilities for gray water or toilet tanks. The Allier and the beautiful village of Chilhac high above the campsite will stay in our memories. It must be very pleasant out of season. Far too many people, we are really packed in together. However, despite the crowds, the campsite is quiet from 10 p.m. to 9 a.m. Be aware that there is no phone network if you need to make an urgent call.
