Day parking, overnight prohibited

Beautiful place during the day with a great view. I arrived there in the rain in the evening. Not a nice place to spend the night. My dog completely freaked out. HAUNTED! We then spent the night in the beach car park. There were a few long looks from the cleaning staff in the morning, but no scolding. Locals were friendly and on the beach with their dogs.

A beautiful place for a short break or picnic, but overnight stays are apparently no longer permitted—see the last photo.

We stayed on 22 July 2025 and enjoyed a very quiet night, apart from some cows making an early-morning appearance on the road. Sadly, the council put up a notice on 23 July saying that parking, including overnight parking, was prohibited by order.

6 July 2025. Splendid views, quiet, easy access, space for 3 vehicles while maintaining privacy. Just a little windy that night, but acceptable. Magnificent coastal road! Thanks to Sch.flo 40 for sharing it with us. Highly recommended.

A truly fantastic place. Next to a small cemetery with the ruins of a church. What a view and what peace and quiet. Naturally, there are no services, but still five stars for the location.

Very nice, as described, and you do not disturb anyone. Wonderful view over the entire bay. Small correction to the description: there is no Wi-Fi. But that does not matter.

Scenic, very quiet little car park opposite a cemetery. The climb involves a narrow road and hill, but it is quite manageable. It can be windy, though the views make it worthwhile.

Very quiet and magnificent at the same time. Beautiful view of the sea and bay. There is a car park a few minutes away with toilets and a shower (not tested). Slightly sloping ground and a very tight turn to get there—be careful in a motorhome.

Pleasant small parking area beside a cemetery. The turn from the main road is tight and the hill is steep, but it is achievable. There are no facilities, only lovely views. The elevated site is not perfectly level, and strong winds can make the van move, though not enough to disturb a light sleeper. The road ends at the cemetery, so there is no through traffic. I received four bars of 4G and would gladly return.

Dreamlike spot, incredible views and simply extremely beautiful. We were approached by a local resident. She asked us to treat the area respectfully, as it is a cemetery after all. In summer it is probably extremely busy here, and people leave their rubbish around and damage the cemetery.

Perfect place to park, with spectacular views. There are no amenities or services, but it is quiet and has enough room for several campers or cars. Access is via a single-track lane with a bend, though neither is especially difficult.

Easy to access and spacious enough for as many as ten campers or motorhomes, depending on how thoughtfully people park.

Great place! You have a beautiful view of the coast, it is very quiet and we slept very well. It was also not as windy as expected. No sanitary facilities. Some previous visitors left their tissues lying around; we picked everything up. Please take your rubbish with you, including the toilet tissues. Nature belongs to everyone, so everyone must take care of it.

On 29 July 2024, this was a level parking area beside a famine graveyard overlooking Barley Cove. One other van was present. A man began strimming the grass at 6:45 a.m.; aside from that interruption, it was lovely.

Next to the cemetery. Lovely views. Very peaceful.

Great view, very quiet and, compared with the Mizenpoint car park, there was hardly anyone around.

Outstanding view across the inlet, among our favourites so far. The pitch is fairly level. The hairpin approach looked questionable but proved less difficult than expected and was easy enough in our seven-metre campervan. The night was extremely quiet, with only two daytime visitors.

You can do it; nothing special, but sufficient for one night. You sleep, so to speak, in the cemetery car park. Very windy and exposed!
