Been here?
This parking area at the Dion archaeological site offers spacious, generally quiet overnight parking near the village. The archaeological site is beside the parking area, a friendly tavern is 50 m away, and the museum is 500 m away. Clean toilets can be used during site opening hours, but the site is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in winter. Vehicles 3.2 meters high should beware of overhanging branches, and passing traffic can sometimes be noisy.

Spent a quiet night here. During the opening hours of the archaeological site, you can use the toilets there.Translating
Spacious parking spaces and clean toilets. Note that they are closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in winter. We did not stay overnight.Translating
A pleasant place, though I am unsure how well it is monitored at night. It is a car park for visitors to the archaeological site.Translating
The people who work at the museum are lovely. We slept very badly, not because of barking dogs but because of the incessant noise of cars and motorcycles passing and slowing down at the parking area all night. No honking or aggression was felt. Clean parking area, cameras around the museum. No services.Translating
Our vehicle is 3.2 metres high, and overhanging branches made parking difficult. Take great care when positioning your vehicle.Translating
We arrived just before closing time and asked the employee whether we could spend the night there. No problem. The next day we visited the site, which was well worth it. We also saw many unusual birds. There was some traffic on the adjacent road, but it hardly bothered us. All in all, an excellent free overnight spot.Translating
Very good parking for the night. We spent two nights without problems. The village is a little sad and the remains of the sanctuaries seem somewhat abandoned, which is a shame. If you have leftover food, the female dog will be happy. ;-)Translating
Quiet parking area, but above all, a beautiful and very well-maintained archaeological site! Splendid gardens and ponds, and a fabulous Temple of Isis!Translating
Quiet overnight spot in front of the entrance. The security guard offered to let us spend the night closer to the entrance: “That way I can keep a better eye on you.” We were alone in the parking area. Space for 20 motorhomes. The site was clean, which is rare at overnight spots in Greece!Translating
Level parking with space for large vehicles. The archaeological area is quite extensive and the sites are spread out. Don’t forget to look at the amazing mosaic in the separate museum in town, a five-minute walk away. We spent a quiet night.Translating
Positive: plenty of space, level and relatively quiet. Otherwise, nothing. The archaeological park is disappointing. Apart from old foundation walls, there isn’t much for ordinary visitors to see.Translating
