Official trailhead for the Oftennasen hike. Private property, camping prohibited, currently maximum parking time 5 hours.
Do not park here because the residents are intolerant. As soon as we stopped at 12:00, someone came over and invited us to leave, even though the signs allow a maximum stay of 5 hours. We are guests in this country and wanted to avoid an argument.
Great starting point for the hike to the world’s largest chair.
Signs saying “no camping”, maximum parking duration of 5 hours.
We took the upper parking area at the edge of the forest, with hiking trails to Oftenasen. Gravel surface, but quiet and close to town; the tourist information office is 2 km away. Slept well with four other campers, from small vehicles up to 12 metres. Plenty of space. Emil and Kathi from the Lower Rhine.
Far too muddy; we used the place further up.
