Been here?
This wild spot behind San Sebastián offers a quiet overnight stay in nature, although the ground is uneven or sloped. The approach climbs steeply along narrow tracks and is not recommended for vehicles longer than 7m or heavier than 3tons. Water, toilets and bins are near the church, reached by the uphill path. There is no view directly from the parking, but the church offers a magnificent panorama over the city and bay.

Good night. Quiet. The ground is not very level, but it is manageable. Well-known spot, so there are people around. Toilets, water and bins are next to the church, going back up the paved path. For anyone like me with an old T4 2.4 or 1.9, make sure your cooling system is in good condition—it is a very steep climb.
Very practical place, slightly sloping. No traffic or noise at night apart from the foxes. The water point is accessible via the small path going uphill to the right of the car park, and the toilets at the top by the church are clean!
Perfect place for a night in nature, just behind San Sebastian.
Good place next to the hermitage; there is a fountain and we slept very well! Let’s all keep these places CLEAN, and respect NATURE.
It’s a lovely spot, about twenty minutes from San Sebastian. There is no view from the car park, but if you walk up to the church (where the toilets are), you will find a magnificent panorama over the coastal city. There is also a water point with a high-mounted tap above the car park; with a little searching, you will find it ;-)
Quiet place, perfect for one night. Not recommended for large vehicles.
Extremely steep climb. I had to use first gear. I do not recommend it for vehicles longer than 7 m or heavier than 3 tonnes. But the night was incredibly quiet. Spookily quiet!
All access roads were open and the approach was easy. A little uneven, but wheel chocks worked perfectly. Very quiet place to spend the night. Hiking is also possible. No services, so please take everything with you again!! Respect nature!!
Very nice place, peaceful night. Slightly sloping in some areas.
Very beautiful location with views over the Bay of San Sebastian and the mountains. Difficult access: the road from Astigarraga is blocked, and the narrow road is not well suited to large vehicles. Flat ground. The night was disturbed by mosquitoes at first, but it was quiet once the van was closed. Walkers passed in the morning, without causing any real disturbance.
You cannot reach it from Astigarraga because the road is blocked. No alternative approach was available.
We arrived at night in rainy weather with our 7.20 m motorhome and had a few stressful moments because the roads are narrow and slippery in places. On waking, we could see nothing because of the fog, so it wasn’t worth the effort. But it was peaceful, with two other campers.
Quite difficult to access from the road coming from France with a large 7.30 m motorhome, especially when the road is wet! Leaving the next day was much easier, towards Burgos. Very peaceful night on fairly level ground. Too bad the beautiful view is a little further back, at another slightly sloping car park that we only discovered in the morning.
The place is perfect.
Super beautiful and highly recommended. The road looks difficult, but is completely accessible; we went up with a 6-metre camper without any problems.
Very pleasant spot. Be aware that on 15 August the village residents come up to celebrate, with festivities until 2 a.m. You can see the San Sebastian fireworks from the chapel.
Spacious spot, around 10 vehicles, with beautiful views when you wake up. Downsides: the ground slopes where vehicles park, and access through the hairpin bends is rather difficult with long vehicles.
Difficult access. After two hours, we decided to leave. People came and went constantly and for no apparent reason. The police passed by five times during this time. There is shade and very beautiful scenery.
Quiet place where we spent the night. Beautiful views from the hostel, with a water point. Great for hiking routes.
Super beautiful, although a little remote.
Good spot for vans, but to be avoided by large motorhomes. Very narrow two-way road, making it difficult for vehicles to pass each other. Some pitches are sloping.
