Unnamed Road, Allihies
Been here?
A campsite spread across three areas with beautiful sea views and access to a beach where swimming is possible, although it gets deep quickly. Camping costs €10 per person in cash, showers cost €2, and laundry costs €2. Fresh water, grey-water disposal, black-water disposal and rubbish disposal are free, while electricity is available only in the rear yard. The sanitary block has three toilets, three washbasins and two showers, but was recently reported very dirty. Follow the campsite signs from the R575 because sat-nav may direct vehicles onto an unsuitable bridleway.

There are three sites in beautiful locations belonging to the same operator. Only one site has a sanitary building with three toilets, three sinks, and two showers, which unfortunately were very dirty all evening and the following morning: paper everywhere, showers full of hair… At night, the operator’s car alarm suddenly went off, and there was dog mess on the meadow.
Idyllic site if you arrive early! Sanitary facilities are on the other side of the road at the farm. Adequate. Stock up on food and cash before arriving, because there is only a food truck and campsites in the area accept cash only.
Wonderful setting with a safe swimming beach, though it becomes deep quickly. Cash payment only: €10 per person, with three-year-olds free. Showers cost €2 and laundry is €2, with a washer and dryer. Free facilities include a hose for fresh water, grey and black water emptying, and rubbish disposal. Relaxed atmosphere. O'Neill's village pub is about 20 minutes on foot and serves excellent food. We planned one night but stayed two. Thanks, Antony!
Pleasant campsite with beautiful sea views. The relaxed owner lets you choose your own parking place and collects €10 per person in cash later. A village shop nearby offers cashback. Clean, hot showers require a €2 coin. No complaints—we would return.
The first part of the site, near the beach, is mainly occupied by permanent caravans. The other part, a little farther away, is wilder. The campsite would benefit from better organization, as it is somewhat chaotic. If you find a place on the seafront, you’ll have a magnificent view. Quiet and very relaxing, with clean sanitary facilities (showers and toilets in the first section). Fair price.
The site deserves a better operator. The location and views are fantastic. Otherwise, it is untidy, grubby, and not particularly clean. Electricity (three sockets) is not available at the beautiful pitches, but by the small utility building at the back of the site. Many long-term residents.
Fantastic views above a beautiful beach. Practical details: cash only, €10 per person; an €2 shower runs for eight minutes; all taps provide drinking water. O'Neill's pub is a 20-minute walk in the village, with tasty food, welcoming staff, a pleasant atmosphere, and fair prices. One star deducted because the showers need cleaning, though flip-flops solve the issue; one added for the reasonable price. Excellent place, thank you.
Excellent value and an incredible setting, with laundry available for €2. The field becomes extremely muddy after rain, so choose firmer ground near the sauna or the area beside the electrical outlets.
Choose any available place and settle in; the owner eventually arrives on a quad bike to collect €10 per person for the night. Numerous unused static caravans make it look fuller than it is. Washing machines, dryers, and an indoor dishwashing sink are provided. Toilets and showers are acceptable, although they are a fair walk from the field. An inexpensive site in a spectacular location beside the beach.
The elevated sea outlook is excellent, but the toilet and shower facilities were very dirty, and the small kitchen was chaotic. If you only need somewhere to sleep in a great location, it works well.
The setting says it all. An informal campsite in a stunning location, costing €10 per person nightly and €2 for showers. Exceptional value in Ireland. We plan to return soon.
Drive through to the second caravan pitch, then turn left at the back onto the small meadow. There are no caravans here and, if you’re lucky, a space directly by the small cliff edge may be available. You are self-sufficient, about 500 m from the sanitary building. Grey-water disposal is in the drain in front of the sanitary building.
I’m writing this message while at the site. The view is breathtaking… the showers and toilets are super clean. The welcome is laid-back… you can settle either in front of the beach or a little farther away from the slipway on the large grassy field. There is a washing machine and you can fill up with water, but there is no emptying point; toilets and grey-water disposal are available. The pub is 8 minutes away by bike… Fantastic place…
€10 per person/night. Shower €2, washing machine costs extra but is inexpensive. Electricity only at three pitches in front of the sanitary building. But amazing views and a beautiful beach. “Off-grid feeling”.
This site is poorly maintained. We arrived at 7pm and found the attractive spaces occupied by locals who simply store caravans there rather than camp. The toilets were revolting, with paper everywhere, obvious feces, and no hand soap. Showers were acceptable but only take €2 coins. The view is the sole real advantage, and there are no other appealing places nearby.
Beautiful beach, uncomplicated and inexpensive, €20 for two people. However, the site is very dirty and littered. Fine for one night, but I wouldn’t come back.
Stopped in November. The women's washroom was filthy, with blocked toilets, no cleaning, and shower drains that would not clear. Empty cat-food cans were left outside. It seemed the owner had lost interest after summer, but staying open and charging the usual rate requires keeping the facilities hygienic. Two stars for the excellent location and hot shower water, despite standing in several inches of water.
Outstanding scenery with a nearby beach. We enjoyed two exceptionally quiet nights here around Halloween.
Finally, an affordable campsite for people travelling alone. The beach is spectacular, and there are all the necessary facilities, plus a freezer and power outlets because the pitches lack electricity. Thanks to Anthony and his friends. A barista coffee stand is an added bonus when you do not want to brew your own, and the coffee is excellent.
Somewhat busy site with a great view of the sea. The sanitary facilities are new and very clean. We really liked the site. €20 for two people including motorhome. €2 for the shower.
