Unnamed Road, EH41, Haddington
Been here?
A small nature parking area beside a field, near a hiking path leading to the river. A rubbish bin is available, but the ground is slightly uneven. Entry and exit have limited visibility, so care is needed.

Little uneven terrain, trash bin available
Small natural parking area beside a field, next to a path leading to the river. It is quiet; we had a very good night at this spot!
Less quiet than we expected... The noise from the A1 motorway in the distance is indeed fairly limited, but many trucks drove along the road in front of the parking area until around 11 p.m. In addition, there was background noise that was difficult to identify throughout the night, and in the morning there were cannon bangs to scare birds in a neighboring field... Not a great night, then!
Very quiet spot. Yes, there is a motorway nearby, but you cannot hear it at all during the night. Cars pass in front, but there is no more traffic after 8:30 p.m., and there is a beautiful path leading to a river accessible only on foot.
Pleasant and fairly quiet spot despite the main road in the distance and the small road nearby. There is a bin.
This is not remotely a natural setting; it is close to the motorway.
Good spot near Edinburgh. Quiet place close to the motorway, with a bin. Convenient for spending a night in this area.
A reasonably secluded spot. Some farm work takes place during the day, but it is not loud, and there is a rubbish bin. Nights are pleasant and quiet.
Quiet location about twenty minutes by car from Edinburgh, with usable Vodafone reception. It is somewhat exposed when the weather is bad.
Really only appropriate for tiny motorhomes or campervans. We barely managed to turn our 7.5-meter motorhome around to leave.
Very good spot not far from Edinburgh, a few midges in the morning and quite a lot of tractor activity at this time of year, so leave room for them near the gates.
Two quiet nights in a van at this small place opposite a farm (two nights after visiting Edinburgh; we do not really like city car parks). Be careful when entering or leaving: visibility is poor and they drive fast. Do not park in front of the gate; a tractor passed through this morning. 2–3 places for vans. Clean toilets in Haddington on the way to breakfast at the Loft Coffee.
Quiet place and good for spending a night near Edinburgh. There were three of us that evening and we had a very good night. It was windy, but apart from that it was good.
Nice little spot beside a field, hidden from the road by a low wall. It was great for two motorhomes or vans. The motorway 500 m away could not be heard, and we were next to the aircraft museum. Thanks, Park4night.
Very quiet spot; we cooked and ate alone. It is a simple, flat grassy parking area.
Very quiet, in the middle of nature, close to a hiking trail.
Peaceful for one night. A few hikers’ cars occasionally come and park, but it is relatively quiet. We had a good night. However, be aware that during the season there is a bird scarer nearby that sometimes makes loud bangs. You can hear it, but it is not constant. There is an opportunity for a short walk along the river. It is quite beautiful.
