Been here?
A dirt parking area at 1100 m with a beautiful view over Sønstevatn lake, suitable for a night or a picnic. Walking and fishing are possible, but there are no services or rubbish bins. The area can be very windy and busy, with 14 motorhomes and 3 small vans reported at one time, so arriving early is advisable. The nearby road is generally quiet at night.

Great sunset, although it was very windy and consequently noisy inside the camper. It gets very crowded in the evening! Someone had written here that the place accommodates 6–8 motorhomes; we were here with 14 motorhomes plus 3 small vans. Arriving early is worthwhile.Translating
Great place for spending a night. Beautiful view, but there is nothing else. No rubbish bins either, so you need to be able to dispose of or take your rubbish with you. It is also very windy and next to the road. You do not necessarily hear the road, but the wind makes it very cold. I recommend staying here only in a campervan or at least somewhere warmer. A roof tent seems very cold to us.Translating
Beautiful views, but if it is windy like tonight, nothing protects you.Translating
A beautiful place with a view and silence.Translating
Beautiful view! Just a decent gravel area a little farther from the road. Really quiet in the evening and at night, although it can be windy.Translating
Great place for an overnight stay with a fantastic view. Hardly any traffic during the day and absolute silence at night; space for six to eight motorhomes. No services at all. A magnificent place for self-sufficient vehicles with heating, even in summer.Translating
Incredible place. Be careful to arrive early, as there can be quite a few motorhomes.Translating
Great view from the parking area, especially the sunset, which can be watched from there. It is really beautiful for one night, but ultimately it is more of a hiking parking area. The road below the parking area has very little traffic in the evening and at night. Beware: there are lots of mosquitoes around!Translating
One of the best and most impressive places on our trip. We were lucky to be there in fantastic weather (10 July 2025). The sunset was still not over at 12:30 a.m., and sunrise was already happening again at 4:40 a.m.Translating
Amazing place with a great view of the hills and lake. No services, but we did not need them. There is a road nearby, but nobody drove on it from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.Translating
A truly beautiful place to spend the night and let your soul unwind. There are also short trips into the fjell to pick berries. The pitch is good and level, with no facilities—a simple place, but right in the middle of the fjell with a beautiful view.Translating
The scenery is pleasant in sunshine, although we woke surrounded by clouds. Otherwise it was fairly crowded. We prefer more secluded places, but this was acceptable for a fresh overnight stay.Translating
An incredible panorama to wake up to. At 1,100 metres elevation, nights are cold; on June 21 the temperature was only 3.5 degrees. The site is clean and attractive, so please help keep it that way.Translating
Spacious and airy place with a great view over Sønstevatn!Translating
