Quiet picnic clearing, muddy access

A gravel clearing beside a picnic area and secondary road, with an open southern view and a gentle slope. The area is clean, fairly flat, quiet, and close to hiking routes, with picnic tables 30m below under oak trees. Access may be difficult in mud because of a high step from the poor road, and the opposite side has collapsed.

Unobstructed view towards the south, in full sun. The picnic tables are 30 m away beneath the oak trees. Further down, the museum also seems to be little more than a shadow of its former self, but there used to be a car park and even toilets there; that is ancient history since the construction of the new road and tunnels.
Great stop , nice view , clean and flattish. Yes the other side of the road has collapsed and the road is poor but similar to most of the roads in Sicily. There is no rubbish however and a good stop close to hikes. Cuckoos snd owls.
We couldn’t access the site because of mud and the high step up from the road. Otherwise it would have been very beautiful.
