Overnight parking, potholes and road noise

Great place for one night and for a short walk through Aros Park to the waterfalls.

The car park has enormous potholes, but otherwise it is an excellent overnight stop. We parked discreetly and respectfully. Hikers and dog walkers were constantly coming and going. We stayed one night before catching an early ferry.

Very practical motorhome site. Not particularly beautiful surroundings. Nice walk to the waterfall.

There are no local parking or height limits, although Scotland generally discourages overnight camper parking outside costly campsites. This roughly circular area is heavily potholed but mostly level and busy during daylight. Some road noise is present but manageable. Parking here should allow a quiet night. Three network reception is extremely weak, as it is across much of Mull.

No notices forbid overnight stays. We slept well beside the main road, which was fairly quiet from 10 p.m. until 6:30 a.m. I suspect Northern Explorer dislikes people using lay-bys, since this is probably the seventh or eighth time I have seen that comment.

Overnight parking is absolutely prohibited. Gamekeepers and forestry vehicles regularly pass through the site.
