We spent a quiet night here. The next day we could drive straight to the nearest parking area by the lake and spend the day there.
Fine for one night! There is no official no-parking sign, and I had no problems staying overnight. The humming of the power station is clearly audible at night. There are public toilets at the station in Kochel, 5 minutes away by car.
We were also able to stay overnight here for free. There is no sign prohibiting overnight stays. The hiking trails are beautiful.
A large parking area with a path leading directly to Lake Kochel. There are several places to swim in a cow pasture there. Dogs are welcome too.
