8315, Grunnførfjord
Been here?
Grunnførfjord is a small island spot with panoramic fjord and mountain views. Fishing is possible from the bridge and, at high tide, from the shore. The place is very popular and generally fits only one camper, so space may be unavailable. The road is nearby, with some traffic during the night, and the entrance has rocks requiring careful reversing.

Nice place, nice view in both directions. From the bridge you could see how the water flows in and out at high tide. You can fish from the bridge and at high tide also from the shore. Some traffic during the night.
Most beautiful place in Norway so far. Possibility of fishing from the bridge. Very beautiful fjord with a lovely view. However, it is very popular and there is only room for one camper, so arrive early. There are plenty of other places nearby, so it is definitely worth trying your luck if the spot is free.
Beautiful spot, unfortunately close to the road, which is busy during the day—the majority are campers also looking for a place. Around midnight, a local came to fish from the bridge.
Beautiful place, very quiet road, almost a private island for yourself. Half an hour’s walk from the Delpen/Matmora hike. Ideal for a midnight-sun hike!
Very nice, caught no fish. Greetings.
Not entirely sure why all the reviews rave about this place so much. rocks at the entrance so be careful not to catch underneath, best to reverse in as no space to turn around. It’s lower than the front lake so not the best view, especially with the trees (I guess better in winter with no leaves). A bit further across the bridge is a pull in with a great view including the northern lights
As this one was occupied, I spent the night a little further along the road in an easterly direction. Very quiet, beautiful.
Absolutely unreal place! The views are incomparable, and it is fairly close to walk along the beach to Matmora. If there is a free space, stop without hesitation.
Spent the night here. Parkbay close to the road but peaceful with a stunning view of the midnight sun. Another campervan was already there when we arrived, but we managed to fit (Probably best suited for 1 van and a small car.) It was late, and we just wanted to enjoy a romantic dinner by the shore under the midnight sun. Thanks to the Guy who helped us park our non-AWD Van near a muddy edge.
We are staying here on 28 May 2025. There is no “no camping” sign or any other sign to be seen, even after looking closely.
Now also No Camping here since 1 September 2024.
We loved it! Fishing for salmon or trout is a real pleasure. The panoramic view from the spot is magnificent; space for a maximum of 2 campers (lots of jellyfish).
Wonderful place in the middle of an island. We stayed here for two nights; a few nice people came to camp here. The spot is suitable for a maximum of two campers. You can hike to Matmora wonderfully from here—you should do it! The view from the top is incredible. The sandbanks are great for sunbathing and swimming. At the bridge you can fish for salmon or watch them jumping.
A dream spot. We were there with our motorhome. There is not really room for more cars. Quiet, very green, direct access to the water, simply a dreamlike setting. From late afternoon, the water recedes and you can walk across the sandbank. In the evening you can watch anglers on the bridge and fish swimming back out. No services.
