Free parking in multiple scenic sections above a river, with mountain views. Lower parking restricted to vehicles under 2m wide; upper sections are shaded and spacious. Two friendly bars and restaurants nearby. Showers available for €2. Popular hiking base for the 1.5-hour walk to Lac d'Oó. Calm nights and good amenities despite summer crowds.

Spectacular place. Overnight stays are supposedly not allowed in the lower car park, but many people were doing it. We stayed in the upper part just in case and slept very well. Good place to start the hike to the lake or have a drink at the hostel. The showers and toilets are fine. The shower could be cleaner, but it looks quite modern.
A beautiful setting surrounded by mountains. I couldn't reach Lake Oô because of an inflamed knee; I understand it is a 1.5-hour climb to get there. In any case, the river runs through the car park, which gets quite full in summer. I spent two quiet nights with the camper's rear door open. There are also showers and toilets upstairs by the bars.
Perfect place to spend the night. Beautiful hike to Lake Oô.
Great view, quiet, toilets available and showers for €2. Two hostels on site, very welcoming staff.
Very quiet at night. Shared parking with cars, but very spacious shaded spaces. The lower car park is only allowed for vehicles less than 2 metres wide, but it doesn't matter: there are plenty of spaces upstairs, with more shade.
It is no longer possible to park in the lower car park (the passage has been narrowed by a large rock and a wooden post), but it is very good and shaded up top. Showers are available for €2. The two restaurant-bars are very friendly. The one above has local beer, and the one below offers a small locally made Basque digestif. A beautiful place for Lake Oô and especially Lake Espingo.
Very quiet car park. We had a good night's sleep, and the hike to the lake is simply magical. Add to that a wonderful restaurant with excellent food and a fantastic welcome.
Excellent, relatively level car park with a superb view, extremely quiet for spending the night. The hike to Lake Oô is easy and worthwhile. Great restaurant, generous portions and excellent service. Ten-minute shower for €2. Everything was perfect!
Magnificent car park. The lowest one, right next to the stream, is only for cars and campervans, as the entrance is flanked by stones spaced 2 metres apart. The rest of the spaces are wide, arranged side by side, and almost all shaded. Two restaurants with very welcoming terraces and good prices. Perfect for hiking to the lakes. No facilities except a shower at the hostel.
Quiet night. Everything fine. It is a shame that there are “campers” with small vans who prefer to urinate in the car park instead of using the available toilet. Because of people like this, these places will soon be closed to motorhomes.
Excellent. The upper car park, as soon as you arrive, and the one after it have plenty of shaded spaces, mainly from the afternoon onwards—a lifesaver during heatwaves. The view in the evening is incredible. Some people stay overnight, but it is large and everyone is quiet.
It is a shame we missed this beautiful location. We were there in June 2026. Plenty of space for the camper and one or two restaurants. Very quiet location. Unfortunately, the description does not specify this.
Beautiful spot with a magnificent view over the valley! The car park is large and has enough space for motorhomes and vans. Recycling bins, toilets and public shower. I really recommend this place!
It is now forbidden to sleep in the lower car park near the river, but it is allowed in the other car parks. Great quiet spot with a beautiful view. Free toilets and showers for €2. There is a restaurant on site, with generous and very good food, and friendly staff!
Parking in the lower car parks near the river is closed off on one side by large rocks and on the other by a locked post. Parking overnight is now prohibited from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Wonderful place, very quiet, with an incredible view over the valley! In the low season, no problem spending the night here. Lovely little inn. We bought some good cheese!
Lovely spot with a river nearby for swimming and more. A few steps from the start of the hike to Lake Oô. Lots of people, but many leave in the evening.
Car park without facilities, apart from a €2 paid shower and toilets. The restaurant owner confirmed that before the summer rush, overnight parking is allowed. And you eat very well at his establishment...
It is true that parking is no longer allowed between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. in the large, lower, level car parks. The large parking area has also now been divided into sections with stones, making it more difficult to park larger motorhomes. Unfortunately, photos can no longer be added; they would show this.
We spent one night here. No problems. Car park with a slight slope. Beautiful view of the river and waterfalls. Close to the start of the hike to Lake Oô. Two restaurants with reasonable prices. Filling up with water is difficult because the tap is in the toilets and has a push button.
We spent one night here, very pleasant beside the water and very quiet. Small traditional restaurant just above. Ideal for hiking to Lake Oô and Lake Espingo for the more energetic. Toilets available; the shower was out of order. Bins available for glass, cardboard, etc.
Since April 2025, overnight parking is no longer allowed. The shower no longer works and is blocked. We spent the night in the hostel car park without knowing it, and luckily nothing happened. I doubt whether overnight stays are allowed in a clearing beyond the car park; there were no-camping signs, which is why...
Excellent site. Very level. We spent two peaceful nights beside the river. Bins nearby. Free toilet and €2 shower. Bar nearby. Good mobile coverage.
We spent two excellent nights here. Really great, and an excellent restaurant, Le Mailh d'Astau.
A gem of a place! Super quiet at night. During the day, a pleasant spot with restaurants, where everyone starts the beautiful walk to Lake Oô. Toilets are very clean!
One night in early September. The car park has quite a few spaces at the foot of the mountains, with lots of trees. There are also free public toilets and shared showers (€2 for about 10 minutes of hot water) a few metres away. Ideal for starting the hike to Lake Oô.
Quite level, with plenty of space to park. You can hear cows and other animals—very relaxing.
Level pitch in the countryside, facing the mountain. Unfortunately, as too often happens, the riverbanks are full of dog mess, various rubbish and toilet paper... It is a shame that these places are dirtied or even polluted by people who supposedly love nature.
Quiet car park for spending the night, but the toilets and shower were inaccessible in the morning and evening when we wanted to use them...
Slightly uneven gravel car park with no facilities. Very peaceful night. We must respect the rules if we want to continue enjoying it.
With the heavy use and the behaviour of some people, the car park near the river will soon be prohibited for motorhomes, according to the municipal employees. In season, it is possible to access the site for €2 from Bagnères-de-Luchon.
Excellent spot beside the stream, at the start of the hike, quiet with a beautiful view! Two restaurants, with very good homemade blueberry tarts!
Magnificent, very quiet spot at night. Very busy in season, though, so arrive early—it is better even for the hike to Lake Oô.
We stayed in the lower section. The spot is fantastic, right beside the river.
Very good, at the start of the hike! Easy access to bins, toilets and showers (€2, payable by card). At the start of the hikes, in a quiet location. I recommend it.
