A75, 34230, Paulhan
Been here?
Southbound A75 motorway rest area with toilets, recycling, rubbish bins, picnic benches and spaces for cars, campers, motorhomes and lorries. Recent reports warn of theft risks overnight, especially on the upper parking area near a gate to an unobserved side street. It is noisy and heavily concreted, but water can be collected with a container.

Yes, I can only confirm all of that: a beautiful place. I was here last year and the year before too, but I noticed some guys sneaking around the cars and going out through the gate. Only two hours later they came back. At the time I left; today I’m parked on the other side and it’s the same thing. I’ll only take a lunch break here and definitely won’t stay overnight.
You should really think carefully about whether to spend the night in this car park. It practically invites thieves. There is a fence, but it has a gate leading to a quiet, hidden side street. You are particularly vulnerable in the upper car park despite the permanent lighting. It’s a shame, as it is otherwise quite nicely laid out. During the day, I consider the risk low for a break.
Be careful of thieves. We were burgled overnight after arriving at 3 a.m. and waking after 6 a.m. to find the door open. Thankfully, nothing valuable was stolen.
I slept here about ten times over the past few years and never had any problems. However, I read about numerous thefts, so I cannot guarantee that it is safe. In recent years I no longer stay overnight anyway: it is too noisy and paved for my habits. I only stop during the day to fill up with water and clean the chemical toilet. It is on the motorway, so it is suitable for large vehicles.
Passing through on 19 October. Nice rest area, with the possibility of filling the water tank using a jerrycan.
The place is dangerous for overnight stays. Behind the car park for passenger cars there is a gate in the fence. At night, a car arrived with its headlights switched off, and a suspicious man got out and began walking among the parked cars and inspecting them. Then I saw two more people behind the trees. We had to leave. The toilets were working. Drinking water is available.
We slept very well, without noise or problems. There is an emptying point next to the wooden hut; although it looks out of use, it drains properly.
Someone attempted to enter my van during the night. Be extremely cautious: they managed to unlock it. Fortunately, I heard the locks, got up, shouted, and scared them away.
Free motorway rest area... sanitary facilities poorly maintained... filthy everywhere... not even swept inside the buildings.... The bins are nevertheless emptied regularly. We ate in the motorhome and left quickly.
The waste-disposal point is no longer authorised; the outlet has been blocked. It is impossible to empty grey water.
