Great place if need somewhere close to Manchester, we arrived late on, parked up n had a goodnight sleep with no hassle. Suspect plenty of activity further round however no harm to any one
Carpark at the end of the lane had none of the collection of folk looking for nocturnal action! 2 other vans parked up when I arrived at 11pm, the odd coming and goings from young folk in cars but then around 2am I was woken up as the van was been shook luckily it was undamaged however next morning saw the guy in the next van clean the outside so think he had fallen victim to graffiti!
The first car park near Tree Tops Cafe has a section at the back which is gated from 5pm until early. We stayed there for a Fri/Sat night. Comings and goings all night, but no-one bothered us. Cafe has an outdoor tap, and toilets available. Great spot for Parkrun, wild swimming and the Metro into Manchester
Drive down the end towards the watersports centre and it's a bit quieter. About 3 other vans last night. Definitely a dogging area but they didn't bother us! lovely walks. Cheap cafe. Toilets. Would stay again.
Great place feels pretty safe. It is a dogging area but there is no trouble and it’s bright with some cctv. Really nice view and toilets 9am till 5pm and an on site cafe.
Lovely quiet spot, toilets opened by 10. Police came in and out a lot however paid no attention to us.
There's alot of comings and goings which doesn't bother me too much as long as other people don't bother me and nothing too crazy going on however, twice I had a car with a guy (2 diff guys) get out and walk round my van looking in, not sure if it's a dogging carpark or something but definitely didn't feel safe for a female on her own. Had to leave at 2am!
Great spot with lovely views of the lake. Lots of dog walkers and watersports people early am but didn't bother us. M’way just behind, but we didn't really hear it. We parked in the overflow car park by the lake. Toilets available, not sure if open 24hrs. Had a lovely walk around the lake in the morning.
Beautiful view and lovely vibes. Little bit of road noise but worth it for the view. Public loos available too.
Excellent car park for visiting the city, quiet night, tram stop a 5-minute walk away.Translating
Great spot with lovely views of the lake. Lots of dog walkers early am into the early pm. M’way just behind but it’s like white noise. Got a knock on the window by police to check I was ok, gave me thumbs up when I asked if ok to stay the night. Parked in the lower car park by boathouse - toilets available ,not sure if open 24hrs. kids came to play music til quite late, quiet after midnight.
Drove all the way down, past the cafe almost to the restaurant. On the right there’s a large parking lot, was nearly empty & silent on 9pm on a Friday night. Woken up around 9am by a dog barking, as it’s a very busy spot for dog walkers. But didn’t bother us. Great spot for one night.
A large area next to the metro station cafe nearby closed when we were on site cars coming and going all night didn't bother us. You can go further down the lane to 2 large lakes that may be quieter down there
